bought my 2nd hand '01 trooper 2 yrs ago and di nagtagal napansin ko masyado nanginginig pag naka-idle... i had it check with izuzu service and nag-estimate 100k + for it's parts and repair...what kaya problem nung trooper? then i forgot to check the oil when i used it kaya nasira..sobra smoke until ayaw na mag-function. A mechanic said baka turbo daw problem and
40k daw pamalit na turbo, is the price right and is it really the turbo? some said bili nalang daw me bago makina...what should i do..help pls...

casa ba nag diagnose? if not, competent ba yung mechanic and he knows crdi engines?
get a 2nd opinion if not.

kung tutuo nga na ganyan kalaki ang sira. well you might as well get a new eninge na. go for the simple 4jg2tc engine.

    btw, san location mo?

Vital ang oil sa 4jx1, its oil facilitates injection of the injector to the chamber.
Set aside buying a turbo until you check the other components.

    A few questions:
    1. Since you bought the unit 2nd hand, were you able to trace if the original owner religiously had the vehicle maintained sa CASA?
    2. If yes, do you have documents to prove it?
    3. What oil did the previous owner use? Since ownership (2 yrs ago) what oil have been using since?

The answer to these questions would prove vital to determine how much would you need to spend on the repair of your Trooper.

isuzu BMD isabela checked my car and said need to replace injector etc..that's why aabutin daw ng 100k..that's before the oil problem..kaya now di ko na magamit..2 mechanics said sa turbo daw ung problem, the problem is those two are not really expert coz they seldom fix trooper or AT cars,I'm base here in Ifugao, quite far from manila that's why I can't bring the car there..do you know the address of the turbo specialist in Caloocan? they said meron daw nag-aayos dun..I might have the turbo repaired or if not buy a surplus one..do you know anyone selling? How much kaya?

I don't like to sound biased but I would most likely put my money sa assessment nung CASA. Problems like this cannot be diagnosed without using a gadget ISUZU calls TECH2. I doubt if the other 2 mechanics who you consulted your Trooper has this gadget.

Reason I enumerated the question in my 1st post is you would have better chance of having the said problem (injector) covered by a special warranty if the Trooper has been CASA maintained since by the previous owner until your ownership and use the CASA recommended parts particularly the engine oil (BESCO). Otherwise, outside warranty na yan and you would be left with either of both options:

    1. Repair engine and spend P100k or more; or
    2. Replace with a (fresh) surplus engine -- best if a 4JG2

    Eitherway, good luck!

kung 100K din naman ang gagastusin mo, eh yung 4jg2-tc na ipalit mo na engine, mas reliable yun kesa sa 4jx1 IMHO. I think tama yung casa, since me mga troopers with your engine that have problems. to be sure consult ka rin sa diesel help desk dito sa tsikot. baka injection pump mo nga ang problema.

try to searh "4jx1" engine here in tsikot para me idea ka sa mga history ng makina mo. kasi kung turbo lang pagagawa mo e di balik ka pa rin dun sa unang problema mo assuming magagawa pa yung turbo. baka naubos nga langis nung ginagamit mo( for whatever reason na naubos e dami pwedeng mangyari lalo na kung na search mo na mga problema ng 4jx1). at the same time canvass ka na ng 4jg2tc engine.
