Advantages:
Proven Durability, can last 500,000 km or more before rebuild.

Disadvantages:
More noise, vibration, and less powerful (max output only 125ps/3,600rpm)
Maximum torque at 28kg.m/2,000rpm

4Jx1
Advantages:
State of the art and still one of the most powerful Japanese SUV/IMV Diesel engine today. It has a maximum output of 160ps/3,900 rpm. Maximum torque at 34kg.m/2,000rpm. It is also quieter and has less vibration than 4JG2.

Disadvantages:
Certain batch of this engine is prone to fuel injection sleave and turbo failure. This is understandable considering that it is the first CRDI engine made by Isuzu. They were able to achieve 30% improvement in horsepower output at the same time reduce the noise and vibration and improve fuel efficiency.

This is my first time to post a question here and im just a newbie in this site. To those kind people who have knowledge or owns a 1998 trooper TDIC, please share to me your feedback on this vehicle. (fuel milage, things I should watch out for, usual problem, gano kalakas sa krudo, reliability, availability of parts, price of parts, etc, etc..) Your suggestions and replies would be highly appreciated. Thank you.

go for it...we traded our 95 pajero for kimpoy's 97 trooper...no regrets whatsoever specially when it comes to suspension.....malakas pa hatak.....
