guys,
just try to count my gas consumption and here's the figures I got! 8O is there something wrong with my driving? or normal lang ito talaga? hmmm bakit heard sa mga eco-challenge the trooper lag 33kms/liter ba? parang impossible ata!

that's still a reasonable figure. city driving yan diba? do you pass through congested roads often? traffic conditions will most drastically affect your fuel economy, more than driving style and engine design. i get just 5.5 km/L with a 2k2 cr-v...
huwag ka maniwala sa mga eco-challenge eco-challenge na iyan... those are NOT typical driving conditions and so is not representative.
i am getting 7.5km/l in city driving and that's traffic of slex. highway i get 10+km/l. I do not drive very fast though.
Ibig sabihin pareho din ng Pajero ko ang mileage? I'm getting 7-9 km/L (divide by 2 kung off-roading).

imo mileage figures from "eco-challenge" crap is useless. you'll never get anywhere near those figures with normal driving and traffic conditions... right now, it's all just marketing pr.
There should be a 'standard' fuel economy testing cycle like what the EPA does in the US. It may not be dead accurate pero at least all vehicles go through the same testing procedures so you still get a pretty good idea of the relative mileage of each vehicle.

In my trooper, i only get 6+km/L in the city and 9+km/L Hway. Even isuzu dealer said this is the usual mileage so don't believe the 20-30+km/L in ads- just marketing hype.
i dont think 6km/L is that bad considering the Safari guzzles * 4km/L. Mine runs at 8.6KKm/L, and the mileage doesnt seem to improve in long distance driving. (I went to San Pablo Laguna the other day and same pa rin consumo)
yung gen1 paje gas namin ay 6-7Km/L... medyo tipid pa pala yun!kala po kasi namin nilalagok nun yung gas e... :D
pajerokid,
ibig sabihin highway driving yung usual commute mo
mga sirs, ask ko din, talaga bang mas malakas consumption ng diesel prior to "break-in?" I just bought a Crosswind XL and parang natataasan ako sa consumption, I mean I'm not after the "Casa mileage ads"
2017 MU-X 2.5 LS-A MT
9.0 km/l - heavy traffic
10.0 km/l - light to moderate traffic
12.0 km/l - mixed city & highway
15.0 km/l - highway (100-110 kph average speed)
Fuel: Petron Diesel Max
Based it on a full-tank method with aircon always on.![]()
mbt::: Hehe, Yup. suki ako ng south super traffic, este south super hiway! Im not sure if this is a diesel thing, an aerodynamics thing or a pajero thing, pero very minimal lang talaga ang tipid sa consumption pag "all hiway" ako. Pag all city i usually manage around 8km/L. So 0.6km/L increase lang when i go all highway.
Compare this to the RAV4. Pag city driving mga 6 - 6.5 km/L. Pag highway mga 9km/L!!! Major DIfference
hehehe.. kala ko malakas na yung diesel wagon ko.. ehehe... i'm getting 7-8km/l on a 24 year old car.... hehehe....
hmm.. normal pala consumo ng hilux surf ko (w/ auto/tranny).. I normally get 7.5km/li when city driving and the normal traffic sa slex.. kapag long distance naman like going to quezon and batangas.. I normally get around 8.5km/li...
thanks guys.. normal pala to.. I thought something was wrong with my ride ..
oo nga baka city driving yan kasi ako lagi akong nag clo-clock ng
9.5 km/liter mix city and highway
although wala naman gaanong traffic dito
minsan misis ko pa gumamit ng strada ko naka 11 km/liter pa nga eh
reasons why fuel consumption comparison is not accurate:
1. different driving attitudes of different drivers
2. road conditions (rough or smooth)
3. traffic conditions (stop go or smooth go)
4. distance of travel (daily short drives or daily long drives)
the best way to know (dead accurate) if you have good fuel consumption is to swap with another person who owns the same type and model of vehicle, use it for a month and observe.
or
measure your fuel consumption regularly. your old readings will be your basis for future readings. this will tell you if you have high fuel consumption.
cheers!
