congrats habagat sa fuego mo! i like the looks sa pics na pinost mo. ganda ng tindig! i have a 2000 fuego, it's been with me serving me very well and it has 130,000 kms on its odo and still doing very well. 3 time champion na rin ito sa isuzu challenge fuel economy runs. wala pa akong major repairs. just regular change oil/tune ups lang and replacement of front shocks. i think i have to replace my rear shocks na kasi matalbog na masyado. wala lang akong pang bili ng replacement now.

Jim thanks for your tip. So kayang-kaya palang mag-tow up to 5 tons yung stepboard na yun? Ok ah.

Thanks for your comments toyboxph. Ilang minutes nga pala ang recommended warm-up time ng diesel engine esp. in the morning? May nagsabi kasi na bet. 10-15 mins, tama ba? Kung mga 2 mins lang, okay din ba in the long run? Thanks again

i think tongue load is 2000lbs, And I dont think na kaya nya 5 ton na trailer, kung sa kaya kaya, but it is ot safe na because it is heavier than the towing vehicle and the brakes, stability will be greatly affected. Some just put a ball in it, the bumber is connected naman sa chassis and usually may mga marking ang step sa capacity ng pwedeng i tow.

anong sounds ang naririnig mo? when naka 4wd ka? turning? or just during normal driving. usual na renirelace sa isuzu and a cause of noise is the idler.

10-15mins idling time is too long...pero mas magaan na ang takbo ng pickup mo by the time you leave...usually mga 5mins lang ako or less, basta namatay na yung mga warning lights for battery and oil, yun nga lang mejo mausok pa (puti) at least for the first 10mins of my driving. just don't go past 2k as much as possible while cruising until it reaches normal operating temp. you'll save time and fuel by that too.

sana pala nadetect nga yung suspension problems mo dito...cruven did a pretty good job on mine...had the parts refilled with silicon nalang instead of buying a new one. kase nagpalit ako, 555 pa di ren tumagal sakin...yung refills ko almost a year na at ok paren...and the price is just 1/4 of the 555 hehehe. p250-300 per refill. anyway, kung bibili ka, i still suggest the said brand kase their quality is supposed to be within OEM specs. standard naman ata pag fuego. but ofcourse you can always be safer with part numbers, etc.

Oo nga, masyado mahaba yung 10-15 mins warm-up at nabasa ko rin sa isang thread dito (15 ways to waste money on your car ata..) na money waster ang too long warm-ups, at ang ingay panaman sa loob ng garahe kung isuzu ang wina-warm-up, hehehe. Before nag-advise yung friend ko i usually warm-up for about 2 mins. But ang takbo ko usually hinde lumalampas sa 2k rpm even if naka 4th gear na kasi parang mas magaan sa makina pag hindi lalampas ng 2k. napansin ko rin nung nag out of town ako parang mabagal mag accelerate yung fuego pag past 80kph na ang takbo. ganito ba talaga?

i'm planning to check and repair my suspensions next month siguro, hope it'll still hold out. city driving lang naman, average ko is about 220km/week at 9.2km/ltr. Beetols thanks for the advice, will try to check out the 555 brand. sayang nga, hindi lumabas yung suspension problem nung inaayos pa siya sa manila, at wala pang nag-re refill ng silicon dito sa amin. magkano kaya yung budget na hahanapin natin para sa ganitong repairs... the least and the most? also, how often do you change the rear bushings & anong indicators na dapat palitan na? para kasing hindi napalitan yung rear bushings ng fuego, pero may mga isuzu bushings na pinadala sa fuego yung bayaw ko. thanks again...

i usually drive agad pag ka start, just don't let the rpm go past 1800 agad. pag nakita kong nag stabilize na temp sa gauge, yun pwede nang hataw. normal lang yung mabagal pag accelerate after 80kph kasi medyo flat lang talaga powerband ng diesels. for gas saving tips, kung gusto mo talagang makatipid, don't go beyond 60kph, and or 1500rpm. pero nakaka inip yun on normal driving. hehe.

Ganoon ba? yung dinadala kong service dati (mga almost 10yrs ago na yun) pathfinder at tsaka hilux 4x4 na diesel din, parang hindi ko na-experience yung ganoon, malakas humatak even past 80kph. when does the turbo kick-in then, or how & at what gear kailangan para mag work ang turbo?

sa city driving ko bihira akong lumagpas ng 60kph at nasa 1100-1500 rpm lang palagi, minsan during acceleration aabot ng 1800rpm. pero nakakainis ang traffic sa amin ngayon, marami kasing roads na cinecemento, ang daming detours at one-way streets, at undisciplined tricycle drivers na pag nakakita ng butas pumapasok kaagad, unahan is the name of the game. yan ang reasons na malaki ang fuel consumption. thanks for your tips

usual mileage ko is 13+km/l mixed city/hi way driving and 16+km/l hi way. 4x2 lang ako kaya mas matipid. keep also your tire pressure to max specs.

I have a 96 LS 4x2. What's the difference ba nito with the 4x2 4JA1 fuego? Except from minor cosmetic differences, tingin ko pareho lang sila.

diba bago inside ng injection pump mo? try to clean air cleaner, 80kph is chicken for the 4wd fuego pag dating ng 130 usually up to top speed is where the speed goes up slowly.

try mo baka naka engage ang hubs sa isang side, or the bearings are loose.

Habagat, try mo alugin yung steering column mo...kung may uga, check mo kung dun ba along the shaft or sa dulo (the universal crossjoint connecting the shaft to the gearbox)...yung sakin may katok ren sa manibela lalo na pagmalubak (has been like that for years now)..pero wala naman ako nararamdaman na pumapalag.

i just had my crankshaft pulley replaced...kase nag slip na at sira na talaga, also had the steering pump rebuilt (sa kakahanap ko ng problem)...i had a problem kase na sa umaga when i turn on the ac, di ko maikot ang manibela at sobrang maingay. pero yon nga pulley pala. i'm planning to have the steering gearbox opened to and get a repair kit for it para ok na talaga.

yung sa suspension...be ready to have 10k kung lahat papalitan at lahat eh 555 ang kukunin mo...kase balljoints palang 1+k na isa (4 total) plus yung tie rods pa, center link and post...pero shempre palitan mo lang kung ano ang ma diagnose na problem. don't go for cheap replacements kahit pa japan...deym, na try ko na pero less than a year lang ang itinagal!

i also think that 80kph is the most comfy speed for our pickup...mejo maingay na ngayon kung tutuusin...kung di ka sanay sa ganyang ingay, matatakot ka na nga eh. hehehe. i push it to 100kph to 110 kph from time to time pero ang ingay na kaya 90kph ang usual ko on highways. (210k kms na ko)

    HTH.

i'll check the steering column, will give feedback tomorrow. mukhang ang dami palang dapat tingnan para mahanap ang problema, sana ma isolate ko kung saan talaga nangaling yung sound. pero parang okay naman ang steering wheel, except for the knocking sound pag-mag turn. naku, malaking budget pala ang kailangan if ever manibela ang problema. hindi ba ito delikado e-drive, pag may ganitong problema sa manibela?

sana maka ipon ako ng at least 10k next month para maayos ko itong mga problema ng fuego. yung civic ng mrs. ko mga 9k+ din ang nagastos when the front suspension was repaired about 2 months ago (tie rod ends, boots, ball joints, etc. incl. labor) and replacement parts ang ginamit, hindi ko lang nakuha kung ano yung brands... yung fuego na push ko na sa 100kph, pero yun nga, ang bagal bago ka makapatong sa 100, hehehe, at more often than not, mga national roads sa amin hindi matulin, ang daming kurbada kaya hirap mag maintain nang hi-speed if mabagal mag-accelerate. thanks for your tips...

based on your description...could be tie rods nga, or cv joints (not sure) pero malamang sa suspension yan. isa isahin mo nalang, start with the basics...

you're supposed to get to 100 kph easily...di kaya kulang lang sa diin? hehe.

okay, i'll start with the basics...

baka nga kulang sa diin din...hehe, kasama ko kasi family on that trip & first time ng fuego on an out of town trip, at medyo hindi pa ako gaano kampanti sa ride ko that time... after 2 out of town trips, hindi pa ako naka long drive ulit at puro city driving lang.

oo ganyan ako eh...feeling ko gapang na pero pinadrive ko ke nico (djerms), ganda pa daw...from then on i try to add a lil more weight to the pedal.

your consumption is about normal...exactly the same tyo... 9km/l city driving with average traffic, sa pure long trip...can go as economical as 12-13km/li; 10km/li kung mixed. hehehe. sobrang conscious ako sa consumption! kung minsan tuloy di ko ma enjoy ang pag drive.
