Siguro somebody from IPC should give hints whether they will be bringing the VGS version here.

Kung available sa Thailand, bakit wala dito sa 'Pinas. Marami rin kasi Isuzu loyalists dito (me included, own a Crosswind and a Fuego). Happy with these vehicles. As a believer on the brand, I hope on my next purchase Isuzu rin. But somehow I also got a feeling that "pinagsamantala" rin ng Isuzu ang kanilang vehicle offerings. Parang-"take it or leave it". Take the Crosswind -dami variants XUV, Sportivo, Xmax with a price range that spans 100,000 peso difference for accessories but the engine stays the same. Unlike other brands, the powerplants are different across variants.

Some people feel shortchanged that Isuzu charge "premium" price for what is "not top of the line" because there is something better na Isuzu rin but its not available in our own country. Feel discriminated?

I can only surmise, the rants here are meant to get the attention this fact.

Sir Benz, medyo napuntirya ka kasi you are the closest to an Isuzu insider here. So why not "volunteer" to take the matter to your Isuzu friends and connections - parang "go between" and see what happens.

We are all on the same side here. All Isuzu believers. Di ba we want the best our money can buy.

    • Rich Red
    • Moroccan Gold
    • Ebony Black

    Guys break muna kayo..

    OT

Already placed an order for a Boondock 2011 model. For me what's important really is the Dmax's fuel efficiency and engine reliability. Nevermind if the engine is old and underpowered it performs well pa din naman compared to its rivals..

Need your take/inputs though re the pros and cons of the following:

    1. Bedliner - spray-on (plastic or rubber), drop-on or both?
    2. Bed cover - roll-top (carryboy, pace edwards) or hard-top (sportlid, etc)?

    TIA

    First, CONGRATULATIONS!

As to your queries, here are my thoughts:

    1) Bedliner:

    DROP-IN:
Pro: Aesthetically attractive, cheaper (vs. spray-on)
Con: Likely to break if you loaded with heavy stuff; if improperly installed, may cause moisture in between the bed and liner --- that may (eventually) result to premature rust formations

    SPRAY-ON:
Pro: Durable; Protects your bed from rust; Can be in bodycolor finish
Con: Not aesthetically as attractive as a drop-in; more expensive (vs. drop-in)

    2) Bed Cover:

    ROLLTOP
Pro: Aesthetically attractive, provides security to your stuff located at the bed (if with lock) and flexibility to accommodate TALL load if needed; cheaper (vs. hardtop)
Con: Would tend to produce "rattling" sound when vehicle is running; despite providing cover, water still sips in the bed when it rains

    HARDTOP
Pro: Provides flexibility to accommodate human passengers at the bed area; provides security to your stuff located at the bed
Con: Takes off xx "pogi points" to your pick up (IMHO); limits size of load at bed (unless removed); expensive (vs. rolltop)

All as stated are based on my opinion. I encourage others to chime in their thoughts.

For overall adaptability, I would opt for drop-in bedliner and the hard top vs the roll-over. Now that is maximum versatility IMO.

    1. You can do both, but if you put the spray-on make sure that they dont plug the drainage of the bed or else water will get trapped in the bed. For me bedliner is better looks nicer. You can always remove it and clean the inside in less than an hour with only an allen wrench as a tool.

    2. Yes all covers are not 100% water proof, there will still be water coming in but it is very minimal, and besides if you have a bedliner it has elevated ribs and water will not go to your cargo. As for rattle tere will be a little bit but you wont notice it that much inside. You can opt for a softlid, but it is not lockable. The hard cover, well is not my type, your pick up will end up like a long back sedan
