Maybe those challenges are true but the thing is what are the unspoken details on how they achieved those. Like the one from Pagudpud so Sorsogon (correct me if I am wrong on this with regards to the places) challenge. I could only speak from Manila to Pagudpud (back and forth) since I have tried driving there with my other car. When I drove my way up there, I needed to gas up in Ilocos Sur (full tank). On my way back, I gas up again in San Fernando, La Union. I drove max around 130 kph and of course, always, downshifting to overtake cars. The thing is, it makes me wonder on how they did that with just 1 full tank with such a lengthy journey considering that they will pass in Metro Manila down to SLEX. There are so many questions bogging me like how many days did it take, what time of the time, did they have police escort to direct traffic, such and such... Same with the short journey challenges. Oh well, maybe that 40+ kms/liter was really achieved but perhaps it was done during the wee hours and at a speed of around 40 kph.

They do the econo runs in the most artificial conditions. I think they don't use the aircon and put the gear in neutral on downhill terrain (dangerous but they're really after the record) .

yes econo-run is true, now the 40++Km/L FC during econo-run of Dmax 3.0 turbo-inter cooler engine is possible? good road no uphill or down hill.. less almost no traffic

It's true about econo runs. Just check out the results of the Isuzu family challenge at the isuzu.com.ph site. Of course, it will be a controlled funrun so that all participants will have equal chance of becoming top gun in the contest. The details of the contest are there that you can download with adobe.
