Hi I'm new to this thread. I was planning to buy the Xwind pag uwi ko dyan sa Pinas but with the reviews and comments you are all giving, is it worth it? How about the latest models? Any reviews on these? Your forum is very informative. Keep it up.

The only revisions for the new Crosswind that actually matter are the inclusion of a turbocharger on manual models (previously, it was only available for automatic variants) and new emissions control equipment (most likely a catalytic converter or particle filter) to meet Euro II regulations. Otherwise, it's still the same banana.

If you're looking for a practical vehicle that's mostly for work, then the Crosswind is good. The turbo is water-cooled (no oil coking problems) and low pressure, so it's not stressed and low-maintenance... the engine is an ancient OHV design with no timing chain or belt, so you don't have to worry about it, and the underchassis is relatively robust.

For taxi duty, I'd prefer using the XTO or XTRM. If you can find a good XTRM, that is... with the soft metal used on the chassis, those things get really beat up (mis-aligned doors, squeaking hinges, creaky cabins, etcetera). The XTO is more refined, but doesn't suffer from being as heavy or harsh as newer Crosswinds.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

    diselNBUI,

    goodluck!

It's time to write a formal complaint to the dealer of your car and demand for a permanent fix or replacement of the while unit.

Boknoy, can you help dieselNUBI with his problem?

mine is not an XUV, but an XTO manual.
    120 KPH at 3200 rpm
    130 kph at 3800 rpm
umabot nako sa 132-133 KPH, basta it's a bit higher than 130 but less than 135. around 4000 rpm na yun. palagay ko kaya niya up to 135 lang considering na 4250 ang redline nya, kaya lang naubusan na ng road. I'll not dare go beyond the redline. mahirap na. When I made the fastest speed trial, I was using Petron Rev-x Trekker engine oil. Parang mas ok sya compared sa Isuzu Genuine Motor Oil (IGMO- kuno!) ... less noise levels at that rpm.

fuel consumption; 10-11 km/li city driving, worst na is 9km/li. Up to 14 km/li high way driving provided wag ka lalampas ng 100 kph. if i drive faster than 100 kph, mileage drops to 12-13 km/li.

Going up Baguio last Oct 31, kaya nya arangkada uphill at 60-70 kph at 3rd gear.... iiwanan mo patrols, pajeros, and even the buses. lugi sila sa power/weight ratio e =). ang napansin ko lang, pag nagmenor ka bigla from 60kph down to say 20-30 kph, parang hirap na umakyat uli. downshift lang sa 2nd gear, arangkada up to 40-50 kph, ayun, kuha na nya ulit.

i drive a 2001 XTO. kaso office-bahay lang usually kaya wala pa akong 20K sa odometer so di pa kailangan nang calibration. so far im doing 10 km per liter-city driving. on those rare occasions na naibiyahe sa probinsiya naka 14 to 15 km per liter! top speed 135 KPH, pero nakakangilo nang ngipin yung vibration... =)

gulat ko nabuhay bigla itong thread na to, tagal ng interval, 7 months inactive. to answer FrankDebin's question, I drive a 01 model and more 53K na odo reading. I don't feel na I need to recalibrate na. Ok pa naman yung consumption ko, 11 km/L city drive (antipolo to pasig daily route) and 13-15 KM/L highway driving.
Nung last PMS ko (50K), meron silang inadjust sa makina to make my idling smoother. Minsan kasi, pag malamig engine, medyo mahina idling, 500-600 rpm lang, but it goes up to 750 rpm pag mainit na ulit engine. Pero after they adjusted, ok na ulit idling.
I was watching from a distance e.
