No worries on the AT variants of the Crosswind. Just make sure to follow the recommended PMS (servicing) schedule and you're good. Drain your ATF every 20k mileage.

gud pm xwind gurus, i owned xwind XUVi 2004 AT. since the 1st day i drive and owned this unit when i parked i always put the transmission in P mode, but this past few weeks i put it in N mode, before and after starting and switching off the engine.

but this afternoon my dad borrowed my unit, and just this evening when i'm about to drive it is in P mode then i started the engine then engaged in R mode, nafeel ko na parang matigas cya iengaged in R mode, mga five times ko inulit ulit, pero try ko from N to R or D ok naman. Matigas lang pag nasa P to R. pero ok naman ang shifting and takbo ng sasakyan.

Mga gurus, ano kaya nagyari sa transmission ko, mali ba yung gingawa ko this past few weeks na before and after starting and switching off the engine sa N ko siya nilalagay? Parang kinabahan kasi ako kng anong ngyari sa AT ko.

I have a problem with my Isuzu Crosswind XT 2007.

When I am stuck in a steep slope (like SM Megamall parking) --- the first gear has very low power -- almost cannot move and the engine stop.

    Ano kaya problem nito?

    Thanks

    Hi Guys,

Can you discuss the advantages and disadvantages between MT and AT Isuzu Crosswind?

For me the advantage of a MT transmission is less maintenance, faster shifts and better control of the diesel engine power + torque. An automatic is more suited for congested city driving (like EDSA) and for those who find it hard to use a clutch (like my wife). An automatic also requires frequent change of the ATF for quality performance.

In the USA, about 85% of personal vehicles are automatics now. Some brands like Honda have excellent automatics, while Ford has experienced some reliability problems with their automatics. This is why i am most interested in the overall reliability of the Isuzu automatic transmissions.

Assuming you have released your parking brake before experiencing this problem, i suggest its possible clutch related, so bring in your XT for a service checkup?

Thank you for your reply...I am sure I am not using the hand brake as I do not normally use it during short stop on steep slope. I will try to ask for checkup on the clutch as you suggested.... Thanks again...rademamj
