Idling problem during traffic

Hi mga sirs, I own an isuzu Ls pick-up with a 4ja1 engine.

ang problem ko, kapag matrapik and naka-stop lang ako, napapansin ko na pag tumatagal eh bumababa ang idling ko. from 700rpm to 500rpm gradually. pero kung tumakbo na ako ng matagal tumataas naman sya ng bahagya. specially kapag naka-off ang makina and then i-start ko after some hours bumabalik naman sa dating idling nya.

ano po kaya ang problem?

try nyo muna mag-tune up

change fuel filter, air filter, oil filter and engine oil

tapos bleed nyo fuel line

Relative to sboogie's reply, when was the last time you had your car PMSd? A clogged fuel filter often cause these symptoms.

thanks po sa mga reply. I had my last oil filter, fuel filter and oil changed last june 12. Since then lumabas po yung problem.

Preventive Maintenance Service.

June 12? That is just recent. Did you have your car serviced at an authorized ISUZU dealer or a regular shop outside? Was this "drop" in idling evident even BEFORE you had your pick up serviced? This info would prove vital to determine the possible start of cause.

Since you're running on a 4JA1 engine, manual adjustments on your idle can be performed. If this was not happening prior to the June 12 change oil, the technician may have overlooked re-adjusting the idle.

I just got my ride 3 months ago and the owner just brings it to a regular shop for service. I noticed the drop of idling after the oil has been changed on June 12. Because of the drop, I manually adjusted the idling so as not to make it shake specially when it reaches 5000rpm. Apparently, when I am in traffic it drops gradually over a length of time. But when I start to move or after turning the engine off it goes back to its original idling.

What seems to be the problem? thanks again sir.

maitim po...pero kahit before the change oil ganun na po tlaga ang usok nya.

Mukhang may nagalaw yung mekanikong gumawa nyang huli. Ibalik mo sa kanila for them to assess... and fix if proven sila may kasalanan.

sir, i noticed na hindi bumubaba specially on traffic ang idling ko kapag if my AC is not turned on. hindi po kaya problem yun sa AC?

Hmmm, your idler switch (A/C) could also be bad....

got the culprit, aux fan. it doesn't turn whenever the A/c is on. should have checked it first. thanks anyway.

Hmmm, so your car's temp should also be unusually high prior to finding out your aux fan wasn't working? Buti di ka nago-overheat.....

hi...alam mo nangyari din sa akin yan. more than a month ago nagpa change oil ako... after that parang yung idling bumababa. adjust na lang ako sa idling knob. pero ganun sya bumababa pag mainit na engine dati hindi naman ganun..

d ko masabi na may nagalaw ang mechanic kasi i was there sa change oil. naisip ko lang baka sa oil na ginamit ko baka gumaan makina? or something. i asked a mechanic, kung bkit mababa yung idling minsan sabi niya normal lang daw.
