sold my 2003 4jx1 trooper last week....dont even ask about the price.
worst ride of my life this 4jx1. it was maintained by isuzu quezon ave, from the time i bought it... all pms done by isuzu q.ave....
i was coming home from batangas when my 4jx1 just stopped after some noise from the engine, i was so scared that i didnt want to start it again for fear of damaging the engine. had to pay for towing back my trooper to the shop.
yup... its those damn injectors... good thing i had it towed. had i insisted on driving it back, the damage would have been worse....
the charge? 80,000 to replace those damn injectors.
guess what guys... isuzu q.ave changed the damn injectors free of charge and labor. after that, i put up the damn 4jx1 for sale. took some time but i got rid of it.
how did i do it? i simply told them that if they would charge me for the injectors, i will do what paul chua did. return the unit and demand for refund.
funny how a the mention of this name brings fear into their customer relations. well they did replace the injectors free of charge.
after reading this thread, im just wondering why the remaining owners of the 4jx1 are still not convinced that there is really a defect in the 4jx1 model. the 4jg2 is the best engine ever. but have you not read from the protest against isuzu thread that there were documented recalls in other countries. this just proves that there is an engine design defect.
i suggest the remaining owners stop dreaming of trying to fix an engine that was recalled by the manufacturers themselves and start thinking of how to sell it while the price is still worth it. if the buyers would know about this defect, then your beloved trooper would surely stay with you forever not to drive around the city, but to look at in your garage.
sell it and buy a toyota or nissan,
