The dashboard and other 'hard points' are also the same. But at least they managed to style it differently. More separation than say a Ford Ranger and Mazda BT50.

Can anyone confirm the powertrain if this really is the one that everybody are waiting for? the 3.0 VGS 4JJ1TC-X super common rail? here in my place ISUZU SA's are still mum as to what is exactly driving this new dmax body?

There will be two engine options available: the 4JJ1 TC 3.0L CRDI turbodiesel and a new 4JK1 TC 2.5-liter CRDI turbodiesel.

By all indications, it seems Isuzu Philippines has not opted to bring in the more powerful variable turbo versions of the two engines, designated as the 4JJ1 TCX and the 4JK1 TCX. The reason being reported to us is because of the quality of local diesel fuel.

For the 3.0, they will use 4JJ1 TC which is the engine of the current DMAx.

For the 2.5, they will use 4JK1 TC 2.5-liter CRDI turbodiesel.

The final specs are being kept quite a secret, but according to our sources topping the range are 4 distinct LS variants: D-Max 4x4 LS 3.0L A/T, D-Max 4x4 LS 3.0L M/T, D-Max 4x2 LS 3.0L M/T and the D-Max 4x2 LS 3.0L M/T. All LS models are high rider versions for extra ground clearance.

Slotting under the LS versions are two more versions: D-Max 4x2 LT 2.5L 5-speed M/T and the D-Max 4x2 2.5L Single Cab 5-speed M/T. The LT and base variants will have standard ride heights.

Sayang ang new looks... no VGT. Isuzu Philippines anyare? Tingin ko kahit the current Hilux will easily trump this because of the engine.. tingin ko lang.
