rmbejarin. kung 650thou budget, why dont you try local unit. im sure mkakakuha ka rin. si kimpoy nakakuha at ngayon 2000 na look nung 97 trooper nya. just my 2 cents.
yup, I agree with niwde11... with a 650K budget, just try to look for a local version... although my ride is also a subic unit (bighorn, lotus edition), iba pa rin ang local unit. mas maporma nga ang mga subic units, what with all the accessories that come with them, not to mention the front-facing 3rd-row seats na gusto nila kimpoy... hehehe... but the mechanicals of a car are much more important. And that is the biggest advantage of a local unit.
rmbeharin, try mo contact kimpoy. yung brod in law nya marami contact sa SUV. baka magulat ka kung magkano nakuha ni kimps yung trooper nya. tyempuhan lang at wag magmamadali. ask ko yung sa cousin ko kung nabenta na yung sa client nila. tapos sama k DieselClub para madagdagan kaming naka isuzu.hehehehe.
1.Malakas ang makina. Matched siya sa bigat nung body. Pag diesel ok ang Isuzu.
2. The best and biggest sunroof in the market. One of the reason why we bought the Lotus.
3. Malambot ang ride and maganda ang handling especially the Lotus tuned suspension.
4. May mga piyesa sa local market. Marami piyesa sa U.S (everything except engine)
5. Front facing yung third row seats. Maganda arrangement.
Cons: (specific also to ex-RHD units)
1. A/C. Wala sa likod yung mga pre-97 units. Pangit pagka convert ng A/C syst. Pagawa mo kay Joseph kung gusto mong tama ang takbo ng A/C
2. A/T units will only give you 5 km/liter sa city. 6-7 sa highway.
3. Luma na yung body. 1992 pa yung design. (subjective ito)
4. Make sure orig na Isuzu gearbox ginamit sa steering.
Kung hindi ko binenta yung unit ko I would have changed the dash to orig LHD. If properly converted walang problema sa mga ex-RHD but for some other reason I will not buy Subic units na. If you have 650k get a local unit. For 800k you can get a Pajero FM (98) or a Trooper 97 na. Hulugan mo na lang yung balanse. Mababa naman interest ngayon. If one is not mechanically inclined then take this advise seriously. If you will proceed with a Subic unit na UBS69 (4JG1, 3.1L engine) then paayos mo nang mabuti yung steering (very easy) and yung A/C (better kung meron sa likod). Pag 5 ang total passenger under a blazing sun(summer) maiinit talaga . Buy a unit na manual tranny if I were u. Nga pala mas maganda performance pag naka biodiesel (he!he!he!) promo yun ha!, di, totoo talaga lesser ang usok and better engine performance. Enjoy and stay safe!

muntikan na akong makakuha niyan, as in, i was haggling na for the gas trooper then suddenly i friend of mine saw a diesel trooper.
