guys, before you dismiss jondy, ask him muna how he got it. The first time I read him post that, tinanong ko sya pano nya nagawa yun. he replied back na downhill daw most of the way yung highway na tinakbuhan nya and lampas sya ng redline (4250 rpm). plus may kasabay or kasunod or sinusundaw daw yata sya na naka fuego who was running at almost the same speed... so afaic... i believe him.

and i'd also like to volunteer... na kaya lumampas ng 130kph ng crosswind. I've done it more than twice, got to 140kph at 3900 rpm. tagal bago makuha, long take off saka kakatakot.

I've gotten the Crosswind to about 140 km/h (indicated) at close to 4000 rpm, too. 150 km/h is possible if you have a long enough downhill run to do it, but it's not advisable, as the 4JA1 wasn't built to sustain high engine speeds for such long periods of time.

That 160 km/h could be a sustained 150 km/h on a slight downhill slope... stock speedometers are notoriously inaccurate.

Pero, on a flat, level surface, no way is it getting much over 140 km/h. I had my foot to the floor on the NLEX one time and Tamaraws were passing me... belching clouds of black smoke... most likely composed of unburned fuel and little itty bitty pieces of engine...

ayun! sumulpot din si jondy. I was trying to remember who it was who reached 180KPH na taga mindanao...ikaw nga pala yun. :D

pre, advise ko lang, wak mo palampasin ng redline. nalaman ko kung bakit tinawag ng redline yung rpm above 4000 rpm. last year kasi, nanood ako ng bench testing ng pure diesel. the test engine was an isuzu C240 (tama ba?). pina-rev yun up to redline (4300 rpm), sustained for about 10 minutes. Nagbabaga yung engine ... as in glowing red-hot na yung engine :whoa: :fire: parang delikado pala pag matagal ka nasa redline. at that temp, mahina na lubrication ng engine parts mo kasi yung lube oil natin is designed up to a certain temp lang. hi temp would cause it to thin down, lalabnaw na masyado at di na sya effective for lubrication.

Jondy, pagkaka-alam ko, yung reading sa speedometer/odometer nakarekta sa output ng transmission, regardless of whether the vehicle is M/T or A/T.

It has 80+ hp and 167 Nm of torque. tapos ang bigat ng katawan. mas malakas pa ang engine 1.3 Getz kesa dyan eh.

At over 1m, the Innova is also over-priced, actually. It may have a CRDi engine, but it's still based on a dated ladder frame design...

Although I do agree that the mid-range Innova is good value for money.
