Yung isang computer ng Expedition (for the A/T, I think), halos kapantay lang ng frame rail. Hindi naman nasisira sa engine wash.

We have our Trooper 2002 engine washed once a month for the last 12 months. Just avoid spraying water on the computer box. Make sure the engine bay and the engine itself is cool prior to engine washing para so that moisture won't form when the tap water hits the hot metal parts. Covering the computerbox with plastic if the engine is hot or warm just promotes moisture formation. Pero you could cover it with plastic if its cold na.
so, how's ur trooper condition? as is ba? well, saan ka nagpapa engine wash? yung sanay sa trooper
zitro,
Nasa Bacolod ang Trooper ni pareng wiretap. Check out his Pbase account para makita mo yung Trooper.

yeah.. i saw his trooper.. ma4ma .. tangalin mo tint para mas pogi points
i have had engine was before twice na sa ibat ibang car wash.. basta naka takpan ang computer box and alternator ok na.
So far wala naman nangyaring masama :D
zitro,
bakit nga ba isuzu casa ayaw maglinis, :o
i'm planning now to trade my trooper to patrol or pajero.. wat do u think.. isuzu daming bawal..
Zitro...
Maybe they are just being safe is it? I even tried DIY ang paglinis ng makita basta ingatan mo lang yung computer na nansa top. I didnt even cover the alternator.
Pag bebenta mo balitaan mo ako hehehe
The alternator will not die because of water. Kahit nakalubog sa ilog gagana ang alternator. Just don't point a high pressure washer at it kasi yung pressure ang sisira diyan (no the water per se).

siguro the isuzu casa's are just being cautious na matutukan ng pressure wash yung computer box
Diba water tight naman itong computer box and its connectors? especially for the Trooper.![]()
otomatic,
Wala namang ill effects.
The computer boxes are not really water tight. But they are water resistant and have drain holes underneath.![]()

what i know, mukhang trooper lang ang maselan na diesel engine..unlike other basta nalang salang sa engine wash..
in most cases, it's not the computer box that's maselan, the most sensitive electronics in the e bay are usually the MAF sensor, Knock sensor and other auxillary sensors what aren't encased.. if those conked out, there's a big chance that it'll fry the computer box... it's not the ECM itself that you should worry about directly... the little harnesses that you see near the intake and the exhaust are the ones to worry about.
