    Hello.
Hingi lang po ako ng tips on things to watch out on a new crosswind.
Just got my brand new XTi today. Anu-ano po ang mga items/parts na dapat kong bantayan bago magend ung 3-yr warranty? Paki include din po sana kung kelan nagoccur ung problema from the date na nakuha nyo ung bnew xwind.
    Maraming salamat.

    Typical problems ba kamo?

Watch the alarm system and some electricals. Poor workmanship will show up in grounds or busted bulbs over the years (keep track of what bulbs you replace and when, as this will point to possible wiring problems). But these are minor details.

The stock battery and alternator are surprisingly strong.

The clutch went out at 45k kms, 1 year. But that's in daily use in bad traffic. Clutch wear depends on the driver, too. The AT version should be okay as long as you follow the service interval for the fluid.

The shifter bushing on our MT came loose at about 80k kms. The reverse gear lockout went with it. We haven't fixed this, yet... even though it's floppy, it's still useable.

The aircon we had to have fixed at about 100k kms, 2.2 years.

Older Crosswinds supposedly had radiator issues, but I haven't experienced this, personally. The newer ones have better radiators.

Most Crosswinds have exhaust gasket and rattle problems. Don't worry. The dealership will usually cover this under warranty, as it's a known defect. The newer ones should have extra flex pipes to help combat this, so you might not have this issue.

Some interior panels and screws may rattle or come loose over time due to excessive engine vibration. It's a good idea to go over these interior screws and loc-tite ( flexible superglue... wag mighty bond!) them in place. If you'd like, you can also add insulation under the panels while you're at it, to make the vehicle ride quieter.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

salamat niky, have jotted down all what you've written here. sana nga sa bagong xwind e hindi na maging issue ung sa radiator. pababantayan ko nga. nung tinanong ko kung kumusta ride nila, sabi sakin e malaking improvement daw ang xwind overall. excited tuloy ako sa paguwi. hehe.
    anyhow, salamat uli.

Don't worry. I haven't experienced radiator problems or heard of them for recent Crosswind models.

Congrats on the buy. Hope you have a hassle-free ownership!

my crosswind is and xuv year 2003. I first encountered problem after one year. The muffler gave way on the 3rd part. I request them to change my muffler on the 2nd and 3rd part that is under waranty. lately my ist part gave way. Note the muffler system consist of 3 parts. In the first part , the welding coming out from the exhaust manifold gave way. I have them repair and installed flexibl hose at muffler center tomas morato. I have my radiator repaired twice this year . Same portion caused leak that is the lower portion connecting the lower hose tube. my km reading is somewhere 73t km. aside from that my clutch master and secondary assembly leak this year. the saddest think is that you cannot find a replacement part for the clutch piston . dthe original one is very expensive what you can find in the market is for hilander only but the piston is too short. one more thing is that i also repair my starter. I replaced the rotor and one set of brass contact.

ask ko lang. wala bang glowplugs ang engine ng crosswind? yun bang timing gears e forever na ba yun kung moderate use lang or personal family use lang? 4 liters oil lang kailangan ng crosswind engine?

Had you manage to choose which cars you need?
I hope you choose the right one, SPORTIVO is one of my
best choice, because I recently bought one, when i got home.

Especially the 2008 model, if you haven't yet bought one try this and you'll found out why I'm so proud of having my IVOH!!!

    Thanks, I hope this help!
