November 8th, 2010 06:06 PM #1GOOD DAY.. Ka D-maxer's,
Greetings in advance..
What kind of engine oil.. Excellent for our Isuzu d-max?
If poured on to our engine.. provides the following;
1) best acceleration
2) excellent engine protection
3) can extend interval for the next oil change.
Isuzu - Manila, offered me to try ELF 5W-40.. is this okey?
Thanks in advance.. for all your inputs.

Cooljay, don't know anything about the Elf oils other than it's also a reputable Made in France oil hehe, so presumably it's magnifique monsieur! ....Just like the Motul oils.
Just make sure apart from a good viscosity index of the oil, which is computed from the range of the difference in centiStokes of the oil at varying temperature ranges, another good indicator in choosing your oil is the amount of Total Base Number (TBN) to cater for say the sulphur in our Euro 2 fuel supply here in Philippines.
I am using Mobil 1 Delvac Gold 5W-40 that addresses the (3) parameters stated above, amongst all other factors. But prior to this, i came from Isuzu Besco 10W-30, then Motul Specific CRDi 5W-40 and Torco SD-5 15W-40. If there is a supplier of Amsoil in Philippines, i would like to try one of their engine oils for diesel cars.
Cheers!

since we're on the topic of oil, would anyone care for some oil filters?
Fleetguard LF689 is for the Dmax. Got tons of this at home now. Am selling them.
PM me if interested or contact me thru my mobile. 0922-85-22-936
