Because I need to have that "that's the one" feel whenever I am buying a new vehicle regardless of the brand. That is also a consideration for me and I don't rely solely on what it says on paper and reviews.

Sure there are much better vehicles than my choices that I can just buy if I want to, halos magkaka presyo lang naman sila, but if I don't see myself owning and driving it, I am not buying it. Kahit ibandera mo pa ng paulit ulit ung specs na mas maganda ito kaysa sa choice ko, I am not choosing it.

Sadly, regardless of how good the specs of TB are on paper and reviews and honestly it looks good also on the outside, I just can't connect myself to that vehicle hence, TB is not in my choices.

Got reserved for the Isuzu MUX 4x2 AT Splash White (Bank PO). There's a long queue. Expected date is 1st week of November but still not sure as per our agent in Isuzu Cavite. They are trying to offer the lesser priced MT but we told them we want the AT and willing to wait for it.

Sorry, slow network causing duplicated post.

Better to wait it out. Who knows by that time they have sufficient stocks and better discounts as well. There might be new models out as well.

^ PMS cost? I would say cheaper than Toyota based on experience. Both casa are located on the same highway. Service? Toyota is better. Pero depende na siguro sa casa management yan.

Basta alam ko once Isuzu reaches their ROI they will bring in the 3.0 VGS to the Philippines, pero kailan? 136 hp 320 Nm is weak for a 2.5 diesel, VGS pa. Is it possible that the engines could reach 160 hp above but Isuzu is too lazy to change the hp and torque figures?

but according sa mga naka test drive na sir and first owner dto it does not feel weak or underpowered at all considering na 136 ps lang cia , pero much better nga kung ilalabas dn nila ung 3.0 vgs or ung 2.5 twin turbo dto hehe

its a big possibility that Mu-X is lighter than the TBZ... this factor alone kahit mas mababa ang horsepower ng Mu-X it wont feel under powered.

Because they intentionally designed the engine to be less stressed than others. Hindi naman nalalayo sa 2.5 VNT Fort right? Isuzu pa kaya na matagal na sa diesel engine industry. Sabi nila mataas daw demand for the 3.0 VGS sa ibang markets.

James Deakin's opinion on the TB vs the MUx:

Question of the week: MUX or Trailblazer?
    OCT 15 • BLOG, FEATURED • 1870 VIEWS • NO COMMENTS

As part of the relaunch of the new website, which will include a brand new ‘Ask James’ section, I will be featuring one question of the week from a reader and giving out special prize. This one comes from John Angelo Peralta Alcid, who asks:

“I would like to ask your opinion––which is better, the Chevrolet Trailblazer or the Isuzu MU-X? Since you drive a Trailblazer, how’s the performance and fuel consumption? My father is contemplating what to acquire between the two SUVs, which can you recommend?”

Hi John, seeing that this has been by far the most popular question I’ve had since Isuzu pulled the covers off the worst kept secret in the automotive industry, I’ve decided to make it my question of the week and answer it publicly to give my inbox some breathing room. So congratulations, you win a BMW i8! (scale model)

There’s really not much of a dilemma here for me, so I’ll get straight to the point. Hands down, the Trailblazer is better than the MUX everyday and twice on Sundays. Try and imagine 136hp trying to carry that huge chassis. It’s like child labor. Why on earth they chose to do that even has Google stumped. But even if Isuzu brought in the 3.0, 174hp engines, they still run a 5-speed rather than the Chevy’s six speed.

Personally, I find it very disappointing. Save for the D-Max (which also runs the old engine) Isuzu hasn’t had a new product since Moses played point guard for Jerusalem; and now that they have the opportunity to impress us with an all-new platform (which was developed by GM&Chevrolet) they shove in old engines and 5-speed gearboxes in them––which is like taking a shower, and then wearing your dirty clothes again.

Forgive me if that sounds a bit harsh; but so is asking more money for your top of the line version than the LTZ Trailblazer. No matter how many DVD players or GPS systems you throw in.

In the end, I’m sure it is not a bad vehicle. But it’s no Trailblazer, Montero or Fortuner. In fact, with these prices and power trains, the only variant that makes sense to me is the base model; at 1,188M it makes a perfect upgrade from a Sportivo.

Ano to?! Undepowered talaga itong Mu-x. 136 hp lang ba ito? Kahit na Santa Fe Sorento mas malakas? 197 hp ito mas malaking makina pero 136 hp lang? Anong klase? CRDI ba kamo??
