I guess you are right with your advice that prospective car buyers should postpone their purchase until next year or just stick to Euro IV compliant models to avoid future problems.
Valid point of concern although I think there will be a fair compromise. They should arrive at one or else there will be no more vehicles left except for new ones in 2016 that will comply with eu4 standards hehehe. If they uphold the DAO interpretation, lets prepare for carmageddon.

Anyway, no point in worrying. We are in the Philippines after all where laws exist and enforcement is nil.

    Edit....

Based on this news there will be no retroactive application for bought vehicles so I guess this is only a problem of the manufacturers specially those who have remaining stocks of eu2 vehicles and those who have manufacturing plants here.

Its not retroactive so hindi affected yung purchased vehicles before jan 2016. Ang affected lang is new and current models to be released or imported in 2016

Ah I see, ang intindi ko po kasi pinapa postpone muna nila para maubos muna yung current stocks. But they didn't mention if ano pwede gawin ng owners para tumaas din ang Euro compliance.

Congrats on the sale. In your case mukhang hindi ka talaga papatulugin ng euro 4 fuels. Hehe ok lang yan. To each his own.

This is purely manufacturers concern. As ive said hindi na affected ang mga vehicles prior 2016 except that they will have to use eu4 fuels. Medyo mahirap itaas ang compliance ng eu2 kasi papakabot ka ng dpf, maybe revisions in cat and some environmental add ons to reduce emmisions. May i ask why you want to do this bro?

Kasi baka po ang mangyari is parang sa ibang bansa, vehicles with higher emissions eh mas madami babayaran, or baka when the time comes na dumating ang better or higher Euro rating na diesel di na maging compatible sa Euro II engines. Or kaya naman 10 years later ipa ban na nila mga Euro II vehicles. Nag ppanic lang ata ako. Hehe jk.

I don't think so. I for one wants to see the outcome of this pero I'm not counting on the government to be strict on the consumers. They will be strict towards manufacturers which they are doing now. Isipin mo bro if they will be strict sa consumers, paano ang mga jeepneys and public transport vehicles na baka hindi pa nga aabot sa Euro 2? Hehehe. Don't panic.

With regards to compatibility, I've said it over and over, compatible ang euro 4 sa euro 2. However, the higher rating 10ppm fuels ang medyo dry na for the euro 2 engines (I dont think this will be implemented soon). This is getting too technical and we are worrying over something not worth worrying about brother.

Yung sinasabi mo na sa ibang bansa where they are strict on registration of new vehicles and they put a premium on top of old vehicles, possible ito and I want this implemented also but I dont think this will be done soon. Relax lang brother. Enjoy your ride and lets see what will happen. In terms of banning after 10years, medyo nagpapanic ka na masyado bro hehe. As of now, haka haka lang ito lahat.

Anyway, our mu-X just turned a year old na wala naman nga po problema sa EurodieselIV ng Unioil.

Road tax might be coming to the Philippines. Yearly ang bayad ng road tax. Cars with euro2 will be penalized yearly vs euro4. Dati nga, wala tayong vat. Someday, the lawmakers will milk us motorists.

Cheers!

Mabalik tayo sa mux. Anyone noticed na parang may hesitation ang automatic when it shifts from 1st to 2nd gear? Vehicle will shift then may short drop on rpm na parang awkward.

Normal lang pag old school automatic transmission. You need DSG for fast and smooth shifting

Hi. The dealer said I need to pay 5500 para raw sa rust proofing.

Extra rust proofing is optional, but not required. Depende na lang po sa inyo if nakatira kayo malapit sa dagat or lagi kayo nadadaan sa saltwater.
