Kung ako ang papipiliin, i will always go with the bigger engine specially maliit lang ang price difference. Pwera nalang kung matakaw sobra yung 3.0. I doubt. Ots an isuzu after all.

Just found out that mas mura ang D-Max new 3.0 4JJ1-TC kaysa sa 2.5 4JJK1

Here is the current price of 2.5
    2015 D-MAX 4x2 LS MT 1,154,000.00
    2015 D-MAX 4X2 LS AT 1,206,000.00
    2015 D-MAX 4X4 LS MT 1,428,000.00
    2015 D-MAX 4X4 LS AT 1,487,000.00

Here is the posted price of 3.0
    D-MAX 4Ũ2 LS M/T P1,090,000
    D-MAX 4Ũ2 LS A/T P1,160,000
    D-MAX 4Ũ4 LS M/T P1,360,000
    D-MAX 4Ũ4 LS A/T P1,430,000.

Wondering if ibebenta pa din nila ung 2.5.

Ano meron? Sana malabas na ung brochure. :D

Siguro naisip nila na same price if not more expensive pa yung D-Max vs competition na much better specced. Great news for truck buyers though.

Yung 2.5 naman kasi Euro II compliant or not same pa din ang output. Then yung torque band eh mas narrow..

I don't think sir na tatanggalin nila ang 2.5 4JK1 kasi this is newer than the 3.0 4JJ1-TC. The 4JJ1-TC is just a revamp version.

Ganon din ang strategy ng Isuzu having 2 engines last yr for the 2014 d-max and 2015 d-max. Pero ang pinagtataka ko lang is should the 3.0 4JJ1-TC be price higher?

This is the question for buyers. Since mas mahirap pumili. Which is which. Lol.

The 4JJ1 is actually the older engine, since the 4JK1 is based on the 3.0. Ilang beses na din dumaan sa updates ang 4JJ1 for improvements like nilagyan nga ng VGS and the most recent update was the one fitted on the new D-Max RT-50. From 163PS/360 Nm to 177PS/380Nm na. What we got on the other hand is the 4JJ1-TC (Hi), different tuning daw.

Yes sir. Still imamarket pa dn nila ang 4JK1 at di nila ito tatanggalin.

Siguro dahil old engine na ang 4JJ1 kaya it should/must mura ito, compare sa 4JK1 na nag R&d sila. Sabi ko nga sir baka kaya mahal sa MU-X dahil sa DRL and added chrome, pero siguro pricing is dapat same lang. Kaso ayaw lang iprice ng same dahil it will up eat and confuse the two markets.

Difference of 60k-100k. (Maybe)

Nagpa reserve ako last week ng 2.5 kaso kanina umaga nalaman ko lumabas ang 3.0 i told the agent kanina na mag change nlng ako to 3.0 the reason of my decision is the power but after that the entire day it keeps on coming to my mind should i really need that extra power here in cebu city when 90% the whole year i just use it here in the city and only once a year i go to dumaguete for a family vacation and when i test drove the 2.5 last week i was just satisfied with the power paakyat ng bundok at humataw din ako sa srp so should i trade the very frugal fuel economy of a 2.5 to a powerful 3.0 but i know the 3.0 is not really that thirsty though. Ang hirap mag decide. Guys i need your opinions

Sa overseas markets sir 177 PS ang 3.0 VGS, then wider torque band * 1800-2800 RPM. I was expecting this engine to arrive kasi yung 2.5 naman Euro II compliant or not na preserve nila yung max output.

I personally don't think there's a huge difference between the 2.5 and the PH spec 3.0 VGS. But we have yet to see the published fuel consumption para ma compare yung dalawa. For me since 4x2 lang ang 90% city/highway driving di ko naman need ng bigger engine. Di naman din ako nagkakarga ng mabigat or naghahatak and 90% of the time e 4 lang ang sakay.

It's up to the buyers anyway, sabi nga sa launch eh binibigyan nila ng choice yung consumers. :p

Bakit 163ps lang? Would they use an inferior engine for our market? O baka error lang on the part of the marketing department?

Altho i still love my 2.5 hehe.

I think its cost cutting strategy ng toyota. Standard na sa ibang brands ang disc. Toyota fan boys peace! Hehe :D
