Smells inside like a brand new car

I noticed in some cars that the very odd smell that a car gives off comes partially from the scent of the person who uses it. For example, if a person uses a perfume or cologne that mixes with the car freshener some confused cocktail scent is produced w/c at times clash, but good if they complement each other. As discussed, a smoker's scent wreaks all over the car and worst, people with ehem…exceptional scent (B.O.) could not make it any better (no disrespect meant). No amount of car freshener can hide that smell. I always put just the right amount of perfume or cologne when I am about to step into a meeting not while I'm in the car. It always keeps the scent fresh and after my appointment the scent of the perfume has reduced to an aromatic level, not wreaking of it. When I step into the car again the effect is subtle and the car freshener can do it's job effectively.

Correct ka dyan! Dapat hindi lang kotse ang malinis, pati ung driver. But the sad truth is there are people with pungent smell due to their body chemistry and the food they eat. I once got into a car of a foreigner friend, Middle eastern to be exact, and boy did his car wreak of perfume mashed with car freshener scent and muddled with his exotic smell. Parang panis na Kare kare na pinaghalong Drakkar at Citrus na California Scent. I couldn't eat lunch that day as I could smell the morbid cocktail of scents and odor and it spoiled whatever appetite I had left. I had a Russian visitor who stayed with us for a week and boy did our car smell for more than two weeks even after he had left already. Dumikit ung amoy sa air-conditioning pati na sa headliner. Pina service ko pa sa casa ung aircon for steam cleaning para mawala ung amoy at pati carpet ko pina detailing ko.

dat is why i don't use perfume. most of the people i notice using perfume are gay. and they have a competition as to who smells the most expensive perfume or the strongest scent. after a while, the car smells of old worn out scent and smells like an old lady

etc.

When we took delivery of our Tucson, I had to vent the AC once in awhile, the odors were so strong I had a headache.

that is the difference between cars to be exported to the u.s. versus cars to be sold in third world markets. the philippine equivalent of D.O.T either don't know what they are doing or there is really no standards in place. specially those cars made in china

I like how my lola (maternal) smells. I don't know if it's her soap, clothes or skin talaga. My Mom and Aunt use a perfume (Clinique Elixir) that has an old lady smell. I hate when my Mom uses that because it gives me a headcahe.

BTT: I get comments that my car smells brand new and it is turning one soon.

1. I don't use car freshners
2. I have uling in the cabin and trunk
3. I don't eat or smoke in the car
4. I avoid having smelly stuff in the car (eg langka, fish, durian, etc)
5. I always use the AC/ I don't drive with windows down
6. I make sure that the cabin is always clean (matting/seat cover etc)
7. I leave a bar of soap for my older car and I always get compliments on the smell of my car. I have 3 or 4 people that copied this idea

I place it in a container under the driver and passenger seat. I replace it every once in a while.

I once printed the following sign which I then placed in my car:
"NO PERFUME. NO EATING. NO CHANGING OF RADIO STATION"

Nung sumakay ang offenders, they said, "Ang cute naman ng sign mo." Then bali wala lang.
But at least they asked permission kung pwede kumain. Then they proceeded to eat even before I responded.

Unfortunately I find it very difficult to follow most of this because of my 2 year old hyperactive boy who walks in the car seats with his dirty shoes, scatters my uling, put biscuits in the car's nooks and crannies, and spills milk in the seats and carpet. Regardless, it is still a very small price to pay for my child's safety and comfort.
