Dashboard Rattle

My car is 5 years old and the dashboard rattles like hell and it's very annoying. Anybody here have the same problem?

Nakaka-bwisit talaga, parang may jolen dun sa dashboard. Bago naman mga suspension parts ko. Pero meron pa rin rattle.

Paano kaya matatanggal ito?

baka may loose na bolts lang connecting the dash sa body.

happy_gilmore I checked already, okay naman lahat ng mga turnilyo na nakita ko.

Yung sound eh parang nag-e-emanate dun sa windshield tapos sa buong dashboard. Wala naman taman windshield ko, I also check the seals of the windshield okay naman.

Ano kaya yun?

have you checked the mounting brackets of your dashboard?? these brackets are usually deep inside the dash so it would really take a lot of dismantling before you get to it. audio shops / installers usually know how to do this well. you might want to pay them for the job for the peace of mind you yearn to have.

one of the causes of dashboard rattling is the presence of too much engine vibration. baka naman dito ang source ng problema mo. when was your last tune up?? baka di din tama A/F ratio mo at lamang yung nginig ng makina. check mo na din.

The mounting bracket of the dashboard, is that the round metal running across below the dash? If that's what you're referring to, no I haven't thoroughly checked that. I saw some brackets under the dash, ito yung sa may glove compartment sa may evaporator area, this I checked, okay naman.

Well, actually walang vibration sa makina, I've checked the "usual/common" suspects(engine/tranny mountings, suspension/steering components) pero nothing came out.

The noise/rattle normally comes out on roads that are not paved well, like concrete roads na medyo magaspang.

But, anyway, I'll consider your suggestion re: audio shops. I will pay them a visit one of these days.

What's your car ba? Malamang di masyadong ok ang build quality ng dashboard mo. Try mo na lang sikipan ang mga screws na makita mo. Pag nagra-rattle pa rin, pacheck mo na.

same problem here.. nakakairita talaga. di ko mahanap kung saan nanggagaling yung rattle na yun. tumutunog lang sya kapag tumakbo na yung kotse, pero kapag nakastop sya tapos niyugyog mo yung kotse, alang ingay na lumalabas kaya di ko mapinpoint kung saan talaga nanggagaling. :roll: kung alam ko lang kung paanon idismantle yung dashboard, ako na gagawa.. kaya lang baka di ko masoli.

kung banda windshield, malamang yung windshield gasket seal lang yan... if i'm not mistaken, pwede magpareseal sa mga auto-glass shops... better do it now habang di pa tagulan...

Cliff, binalak ko na din dati magpa-dismantle ng dashboard, pero di ko na tinuloy baka lalo lang magloko.

I'm still looking for the source of the rattle!

Sir Theveed, kapag makinis naman daan wala naman yung rattle-like/vibrating glass sound.

Di kaya sa gulong ko?

nabaklas n b previously yung dashboard mo? kung hindi malamang intact p mga screw nyan. d bastabasta luluwag mga screw nyan kung dahil lang sa engine vibration. try mo pagtatangalin mga laman ng drawer ng dashboard. saka silipin mo din kung me foreign object sa pagitan ng dashboard and windshield.

nagyari n sa akin yan before, rattling sound .nabaklas ko n ilang part ng dashboard ang nakita ko lang ay 1 peso coin sa pagitan ng windshield and dashboard.
walang ingay kapag smooth ang road...

art, yun bang rear view mirror mo oem pa?? o may inilagay ka na na bigger mirror?? kasi nangyari na din nga pala sa akin yun where i thought it was the dashboard rattling pag di maganda surface ng road. hirap na hirap ako hanapin yung source ng rattling sound, yun pala yung rear view mirror na malaki (usually naka clip/screw sa oem) ay maluwag na yung mga turnilyo. ayun, nung nahigpitan na nawala.

the sound coming from this drove me crazy. parang sa dash board kasi galing yung sound yun pala nabobounce lang dun sa windshield. hehehehehe

Guys, thanks for all the replies. I will keep in mind all your suggestions. Am still in the process of finding the culprit.

Strut, di pa na-dismantle ang dash ko before.

Gothic, will check on that.

Juno, may rearview mirror is still OEM, walang nakakabit na iba.

Anyway, maraming-maraming salamat ulit sa inyong lahat. I will post it here once I find the culprit.
