stinky aircon

has anyone encountered this sa tucson thetaII? yung amoy silicon/vinegar pag bukas? i think i read about this sa isang thread pero di ko mahanap. any remedies? what's the cause of this?

ipachek mo sa casa, baka may leak yung refrigirant... ganyan amoy pag may leak sa evaporator.

ako nagpost nun sa issues ng tucson thread.

nangyayari pa rin sakin yan from time to time. ginagawa ko pag malapit na ko sa bahay pinapatay ko a/c hanggang di na malamig yung buga.

pero hassle pa rin. papacheck ko sa PMS ko. wala ako time kasi dumaan ng casa

I am 99% sure it's the aircon filter (aka. cabin filter) that's causing this. Ganyan din common complaint sa Civic FD. Marami na sa amin nagpalit ng filter to aftermarket such as CaireFresh at nawala yung bad odor.

Try to remove the cabin filter and smell it if it is indeed the one that's causing the foul smell.

try mo maglagay ng charcoal sa loob ng otto under the seats saka sa loob ng cabin or under dash or kung saan ka kumportable. para ma trap yung acidic particles ng silicon. dun galing yan sa mga sealant sa loob. ganun talaga pag mga bagong unit. nag kakaroon ng chemical reactions yung chemical ng sealant sa humidity. pero mawawala rin yan katagalan.
