Starex grx soft ride

Is it possible to adjust the ride of a 2000 svx starex as that of a GRX in terms of softness. I ask my mechanic and he said the torsion bar can be adjusted only in ride height but not ride comfort. Does anybiody know if GRX torsion bar parts can be purchased. Mine is already with fluid type shocks and still not as soft. Thanks

that's funny, you're probably the first one to complain about the Starex's ride being firm. most complaints were that it was too soft/boaty.

anyhow, if you're on fluid type shocks already, i think that's as soft as it's going to get. unless your fluid shocks are already bottoming out / damaged, then these can probably cause a stiffer ride since there's no/limited play left in them.

the suspension system of the starex millenium and grx models are the same as long as they are both 9 strs or the jumbo. if you have a 9 seater then it should be as soft as the 9 seater grx model. the jumbo or long wheel base starex comes with leaf springs at the back so the ride wouild be stiffer. soft ang ride ng 9 str starex. changing to gas shocks would make it a bit firmer but still comfy. check your tire pressure baka naman taas siya kaya matigas.

Perhaps tire pressure a bit too high, i use 40lbs in all 4 tires because that is what is specified in the manual, but i twitch the torsion bar lowering it a bit and now has a little play making it softer, thanks for you response

Looks like your tire pressure is the culprit. 32 to 35 psi should be quite fine.
