Sir Ricci, I suggest just replacing the filter instead of wasting your fuel to shuttle to and from the casa. FYI if your area is smog and dust polluted the filter will look dirty even if it is 1000km. I drove mine to Baguio and when I returned I also checked the filter and it did get dirty. Di maiwasan maging dirty filter ng Aircon natin, that is its purpose to filter dirt. Yun nga lang sa inyo kakaiba nga. I understand why you are frustrated over the matter, I'd feel the same.

Medyo dilemma kasi -- ayoko pabuksan kung hindi naman kelangan pero parang gusto ko rin i-mitigate yung problema kasi malapit na rainy season.

Good evening guys. I'm new here and this is actually my first post in this site. I've been following this thread for a while kase gusto ko malaman kung ano mga ups and downs of owning a 3rd gen Santa Fe. And after so much research and reviews, I'm SOLD. I mean come on, it's such a headturner, sobrang efficient at di matagtag. After endlessly convincing my dad, he finally ended up reserving one (4x2 AT, Red Merlot) instead of a Chevy Trailblazer. Di ko talaga type ung Trailblazer. Parang it totally went out of it's American roots and naging Thai car na talaga. Plus di ko din gusto design nya. Parang ang awkward? So yun nga. Nagpareserve dad ko sa Hyundai Lipa 3 weeks ago and they said na sa 1st week of March pa daw magkakaroon ng Red Merlot. Pero kanina we went to Hyundai and they said na wala pa rin daw red. Ano ba un nakakafrustrate. Help nmn po sa mga HARI officials dito. Kelan po kaya magkakaroon ng Red Merlot stock? If ever meron, sang branch? Kasi sabi nila wala din daw sa Hyundai Alabang. Ayaw nmn nya nung white kase white rin ung Everest namin. Please help nmn po. Baka kasi mamaya biglang ipacancel ng dad ko sa sobrang inip at magTrailblazer na. Yoko talaga nun :/

June 2013 nagpa-reserve na ako, then after 3 months itinawag na sa akin ng Hyundai alabang na pwede ko ng kunin un request Stafe3 red merlot. P5,000 lang reserved ko just to show na serious buyer ako. sa totoo lang mahirap kumuha ng ganitong color at lahat ng Hyundai dealer sa metro manila ay nag inquire na ako pero wala daw, it's selling like hot cake daw un red merlot so advise sa akin ng sales representative na magpa reserved na lang daw ako, and so dumating nga sa akin after 3 months. Nagpigil lang ako minsan naiinip ako parang gusto ko ng kumuha kahit ano na lang available sa casa. kailangan talaga mag tiyaga kasi iba talaga ang pagka red ng red merlot compared doon sa ibang red color na ibang brand. hindi sya sobrang matingkad ang pagka red nya kahit pa direct sunlight. Dapat nga 2010 pa ako kumuha ng santa fe pero meron humor na may new look na ang santa fe which will be available in the market on 2012 pa so heto na. Ang sarap talaga I-drive' quiet and comfortable as well as high speed suv 2.2 crdi engine e.gvt.

Thanks sir nakakuha narin naman ako ng red merlot unit 2-3weeks ago. I have to agree iba talaga pagka-red nya. Sobrang head-turner sa ganda :D

Wala pa yata. As much as I love my Santa fe so much and so far wala naman ung leak issue sa unit ko, I think kailangan na talaga iparating to sa DTI. Parang ang daming units nga ang affected eh and who knows baka mamaya ung amin din pala afected pag tumagal. Knowing din na sobrang raming complains sa HARI

I was tinkering with our SF3 this afternoon and I noticed that some of the plastic nuts holding the cover inside the wheel cavity were missing. 2 of these nuts were missing in the front wheel cavity and 2 at the back, both on the driver side. I immediately contacted Hyundai Davao to ask if they carry these on stock but unfortunately they don't. So I ended up fixing them on my own. I was told that sometimes they do come loose. You may want to check your units for these loose plastic nuts inside the wheel cavities.

Mga Sir, after a year of owning " TA FE " as my wife & daughter fondly calls it, and 12K km in the ODO,
I must say I'm very satisfied with my decision to trust HYUNDAI as my 1st ever brand new car
(I've been driving for 18 years already and not really a fan of owning a brand new car before)

I have no water leak issue even after prolonged exposure to heavy rains, so i assume my unit is not one
of those that needs to be re-sealed, as I noticed those who have "Leak" problems encountered it almost
immediately after heavy rain downpours.

The following are some of my "Likes" and "Don't Like" of our Sta Fe.

LIKE:
- really nice exterior &interior design and materials used (especially after re upholstered the fabric seat to leather)
- riding comfort
- good level of NVH
- stress free steering wheel
- powerful engine
- fuel economy
and a lot more

the NOT LIKES or needs improvement:
- no auto door lock
- excessive nose dive when braking
- braking power
- door grab handle inside, ang layo! (a petty one)
- steering response (they should pirate eng'r. from Mazda)
- high beltline (my daughter complains of it)

I still like it even with its fault

Inov8, there is an automatic door lock function to choose from to lock on start or lock as it reaches 20kph. This is present in the TOTL PHDM AND KDM unit, not sure if it is present though sa lower models. You may want to check the menu function. I also believe you can turn it off. DocBj helped me to set it to lock during 20kph, mine kasi is in Korean language so kinapa niya in comparison to the way he would choose the option sa TOTL PHDM unit niya. Try to check your vehicle's dash menu system.

Classic standard answer na talaga ng mga hyundai casa. Tsk tsk tsk. Sabihin mo eh yung bahay at office mo eh magkalapit lang, alangan naman mag long cut ka pa araw araw para lang maabot yung 5k in 3 months nila. Ako yung 5k ko yearly mileage na yun. And i follow the mileage during pms, not the months. Besides, wala naman nakalagay sa service passport na void warranty kung hindi nasunod ang months. Yung nakalagay dun is merely a suggestion or a guide.

Good to hear that you're car is not affected by the water leak.. Suggestion lang, you can ask your dealer if your car is affected by checking the VIN number.. If yes, then its up to you if you want to claim it or not. Mine is not affected but I decided to have it replaced since its under warranty. HALF DAY work lang naman.

Regarding, no auto door lock, ako din, I was a bit disappointed since the previous gen had that featured. However, may nabasa ako na bagong international standard, that a lot of cars are removing that feature due to safety reason, because on a car accident, mahirap daw ma retrieve yung victim.. Hindi ko lang makita yung article.

Skin kasi dapat standard na un for a car that cost 1.7++M.
Imagine one time I've been driving for almost an hour in the metro nka UN-LOCK pa pala
