I am opening up this new forum thread to discuss with other tsikot members with Hyundai cars who has experienced / always experiencing sour/bad smell with your aircon. I believe this is a HARI defect cover-up because as Hyundai Commonwealth told us, the sour smell in our Sta. Fe is "normal" for all Sta. Fes. I think HARI is covering up something, at worst even Hyundai Global is covering up this defect. Let our voices be heard so that HARI can correct this problem and replace aircon parts necessary. I am beginning to worry that this may affect my family's health since the air we are breathing in inside our car is unhealthy and worst unsafe. I'll start filling up the list and will PM everyone so that we can bring this case to HARI and as a last resort, DTI.

I don't think HARI is covering up the issue.
It's the Hyundai Commonwealth.
Notorious Casa yun eh.
I know people from HARI.
Di sila ganun.

Sorry I don't experience the same problem... Mine is a 2008 model, before the facelift...

February 28th, 2011 10:58 AM #4I don't think this is limited to Hyundai Cars. Also experienced this in our Vios for a week or two but eventually stopped. I have read somewhere that this could be caused by a blocked condenser drain hose. Still water tends to mold does causing sour/bad smell.

Even the Civic FD has this sour smelling aircon issue. It has something to do with the filter element.

March 2nd, 2011 05:38 AM #7My friends Lancers AC is also like this.. specially pag bagong bukas ang AC, pag nagtagal nawawla na ang amoy siguro dahil nasasanay ka na habang tumatagal..

Our current Honda ride also has this issue. The same is true with a couple of our previous rides from other manufacturers... May naiiwan minsan na moisture when you turn off the AC. So turn-off the compressor first and let the blower run for a while before you turn off your engine...
Pag nag-turn-on ka lang ng aircon itong amoy,- later on, wala na....

Ang difference lang sa Hyundai is that all in pala sa casa ang repair, walang manufacturers na pwede takbuhan na talagang experto sa A/C pag nagkaproblema
Panasonic Lead Acid is now under GS Yuasa. Sent from my SM-S901E using Tsikot Forums mobile app
Which is better? Amaron or Panasonic Battery?
