Sorry to hear your predicament sir. Best i think is to consult a lawyer on what to do before doing anything. Know your rights first. An engine is worth a lot of money and if it's really defective you should at least know your rights sir. Goodluck!

We were about to buy a Sonata last '10 pero I wandered around first asking hows the service (Kunyari nag papa PMS din ako) almost parang 3/5 na nag sasabi na palpak lagi yung work. Ultimo push start pinapawarranty pa dahil nag loloko. Their models are great looking really + the crdi engines on some. Pero those feedbacks from their customers really got me.. Bought an Accord VCM instead

Sorry to hear what happened to your unit sir. So the engine is now being overhauled?
And where did they find the crack in the engine?

As the TS mentioned in his post, he already missed 4 PMS. We all know missing just 1 PMS voids the warranty.

Pag more than 1m wala naman masyado.

is it possible, these cars are manufactured and/or assembled in another facility with "better" standards?

Just wondering, hanggang 3 years lang ang warranty right? So out of warranty na sya kasi 4th year na. What if he did follow the PMS faithfully, di kaya sya sabihan na lampas na ang warranty period?

Soon sya may laban.

Pwedeng ganun.. Or gaya ng isang thread about engine ng korean. Maganda talaga ang diesel. Ang gas hindi. E above 1m puro diesel na e. Tucson lang ang gas. Below 1m puro gas engine

Best selling AFAIK ng hari ang eon

This is only a 3+2 year warranty.

The '3' is a 3 Year warranty standard with other manufacturers.

The '+2' is a "warranty" that only covers things that normally don't break within 5 years.

Source: My experience with the Hyundai PH Warranty Department last 2014 that cost us 30K for a Starex engine part (don't remember which at the time of post writing).

BUYER BEWARE yan haha. (Plus, the vehicle is worth more than P1M ;) )

the 5 year warranty has two faces..
it gives the customer a sense of security, that the vehicle is so good the manufacturer is willing to warranty it for 5 years..
it gives the casa a captive source of income for the next 5 years..

The extended warranty actually benefits the car brand not the actual owner. With the high cost of pms the owner is already paying in effect whatever parts that may break within the warranty period and still the casa could find ways to decline your claim as there are thousands of reasons they could do that.[emoji4]
