Official photo of the Korean market Genesis!

*Expect the "H" logo to appear on the export market models.

Hyundai has not gone bankrupt, but they will be starting anew this December 29 when the company turns 40 with the all new rear-wheel-drive Hyundai Genesis.

To get straight to the nitty gritty, the new top-of-the-line Genesis will be powered by a 375 hp Tau V8 engine coupled with a six-speed automatic transmission. A base model will also be made available with a 3.3 liter V6 and a middle-of-the-road version with a 3.8 liter V6 Lambda engine. Hyundai is looking to take on European, American and Japanese premium brands.

Hyundai has also revealed the new Genesis emblem, which consists of the Genesis logotype set in a black hexagonal shield framed by a pair of wings. The emblem will only be used for the Korean and Chinese markets.

Let us know what you think of the new emblem, and whether the 375 hp premium sedan is capable of competing with the established premium marques.

Based on another report, expect the 3.8 liter V6 to produce 305PS and the base KDM 3.3 liter to produce 265PS.

the genesis well... its not that promising but its a good start. I guess it'll take some time before koreans actually make a supercar and change the Korean Auto Industry. Remember during the 70s when toyota released the 2000GT and amazed the world? Turning point of japanese cars from war torn to star born
