Kapag cold start talaga minsan ganun nga na parang kinakapos ng hininga. (hehehe) Pero mawawala naman na kapag mainit na ang makina eh.

Do not start the car at once! Better wait for the beeping sound (parang "ting..ting..ting.." ang tunog) to stop bago i-start ang SF natin. It has always been my practice kahit na sa gasoline engine cars namin.
In some cars, mag flash lang lahat ng ilaw sa dashboard then mawawala. Then that is the best time to start the car. It's like waiting for the "all systems go..." (hehehehe)
Pero bakit ganun kapag bagong change-oil at tune-up, hindi ganyan?![]()

did you asked for an explanation form KIA?
VGT is a some sort of vane that squeezes pressure produced by the turbo compressor so that the engine will have that continuous pressure even at low rpm.
if the engine is sluggish below 2000 rpm and only kicks-in beyond that, then probably it is not a VGT type.
same here, if i'm driving within the city only i don't bother idling the engine for 1 minute or 2. even on my strada though it's equipped with turbo timer, i don't use it, not unless i'm driving long distance where in there's a need for constant high rpms.
the reason for this delaying engine shut-off is to avoid oil caking which is true if the engine oil used is coming from a backyard manufacturer and if the engine is often times raced that the engine rpm is almost to it's peak. if not then why bother.
i have this turbo powered delivery truck (surplus) probably manufactured in the 80's that don't have the kind of engine-turbo protection that we have in the modern engines and have been in my position for almost seven years. the only reason that the engine turbo failed was the wear and tear and the lack of original spare parts. oil caking? no.
Thanks for the info. By the way I got a survey form from HARI with a free oil filter coupon for the 1000km checkup. I should be doing my 1000km in a week or two.
Trust the technician IMO. The sales people don't know a lot. I remember my sales agents told me wala daw speed sensing lock ang Santa Fe but I insist na meron and then she referred me to the mechanics and then ayun meron nga. Now she knows meron!

Tama ka diyan sir C190, Tnx sa info Mam LR & Sir Gen. Miting.
I went to Hyundai Global and they did a scan on my engine & saw no problems but they wanted me to leave my SF to observe it from a cold start, but i declined because i cant be separated from my FeHehehe, drama queen ang dating!
Those displacement figures are irrelevant especially with diesels. Even though the Santa Fe has a 2200cc displacement its very powerful. I know a certain popular brand whose diesel is 2500cc (300cc more than the Santa Fe's) but is less powerful both in terms of HP and torque and from what I heard it chokes so go figure...
Had my 1000km PMS awhile ago. Had it done at Hyundai Quezon Avenue, overall its a satisfying experience. The people there work efficiently and I didn't wait very long (2 hours) even though there were quite a lot of people. Their lounge is kinda small though and the amenities are not that good but that's ok just bring a PSP and you should be fine... Clocked in at 847km but I decided to do it since I will be quite busy as Chinese New Year approaches and will have no time to do PMS in the next 2 weeks...
3 RAGS = 5.49
6L of MOTUL Fully Synthetic Oil = P3000
Car Care Kit = P223.21
Gross is P3616.14 this already includes 12% VAT
Less P400 from a Hyundai QA coupon which comes from buying a new car from them
So TOTAL is P3216.14
Will have my 5000km PMS there again. Overall satisifed!
we call it "less efficient engine"
but there are ways to improve like slapping a bigger turbo, replacing the ecu and chip upgrade.
SF's turbo pressure is higher compared to the pressure of a 2.5L turbo e.g. strada 2.5L 136 but much worst is the d-max 3.0L with only 145 hp! anyways, the manufacturer must have plenty of reasons for this since tweaking the pressure and an ecu that will compensate the additional pressure is at least very easy for them. one factor maybe is the cost.
Anyone encountered this problem on their seats?
I noticed this before the unit was released, di ko lang pinansin because I thought it will flatten after a while. Unfortunately, andyan pa rin sya hanggang ngaun. Mga 3 weeks na.
I already filed complaint against warranty... hopefully they replace it. It happens for both 2nd and 3rd row. Kaya lang, 2nd row lang na-complain ko, ngaun ko lang napansin yung 3rd e.
Ung bakat ba ung tinutukoy mo?
May ganyan sa akin sa 3rd row kasi laging naka fold ung 3rd row ko so, consequently, ung knuckle ng seat belt babakat don sa upuan.
I think this is normal.
