Me im having my tucson serviced from my suking gas station. I buy my own parts, total service charge of the station was 600 pesos. That includes the change oil, replaced front brake pads, cleaning of the brakes, rotated tires, have them tighten suspension bolts / nuts. My mileage now is 25000+ km.

    Parts costed me:

    Kixx oil. 2400
    Oil filter. 450
    Cabin filter. 250
    Front pads. 600

For me... Casa will be always a rip off. If you know your car, then you know it wont break down, just do routine maintenance on a trusted shop, buy genuine parts from third party suppliers like seiring, good gear.. And replace what needed to be replaced.

i agree with the comments here that CASA will not inform you that the warranty is void when you dont follow the 3 month rule and or HGMO rule by HARI because they will loose their cash cow - PMS schedule. They will hit you when the time comes when you claim your warranty. IMHO, if the claim is electrical and mechanical and not related to the engine, not following these two ridiculous rules by HARI should not void your claim. I also believe that having the PMS at 5t kms (for mineral/semi syn oil) or 10t kms (for FS oil) intervals and using OEM parts from known auto parts supplier, then you will not encounter any major problems with your car. However, extra care should be given to the turbo of the CRDi engines. a tsikoter's 2009 santa fe's turbo has already failed and needs to be replaced. warranty was void since the unit was not serviced by the casa from 20t kms till 40t kms.

    * IMm29 and others,

yes, i was referring to your earlier post IMm29 Thanks for your response to my questions. (I didnt quote anymore para di sobrang haba post ko... hehe )

to comment at your and others' posts, I just stopped by my Hyundai Dealer earlier for a quote and to do some inquiry.. here are what i got

    * He quoted me a cheap price for 10k PMS.. I asked what oil, he said REGULAR, bec thats what I used daw last 5K PMS. I said, no i wanted semi-synth, but you had no stocks and convinced me last time ok lang Regular oil. (question to Tsikoters.. ok lang ba talaga Regular oil for 5K? I didnt know better at the time) Tapos for 10K, ako na mismo nagisip semi or full synth dapat for better protection, di pa nila i-recommend?

    * He quoted me for semi and full synth. Their HGMO Fully Synth is 833/li . I read earlier 678/li daw and STANDARD rates daw dapat for all Hyundai dealers?

    * I asked di ba pwede Bring Own Oil? I hear other Casas allow with corkage.. sabi sa akin di daw talaga pwede, its HARI policy daw for all dealers..

    * Then I asked about the "Mileage or 3 months " rule.. he was forced to admit na oo nga daw, ma-vovoid ni HARI ang warranty if lagpas sa 3 months, even if you follow the 5k, 10k, 20k etc PMS. I asked, paano na ko? 8 months na since my last PMS... then vague response nya.. first he said pwede naman daw hanggang 5 months instead of 3... then he said pwede rin naman siguro pag mga 2 or 3x ka "sumablay" (missed the 3 months). AND THEN he admitted medyo wala ngang magpapa-PMS ng 4 times a year... Pero mahirap pa rin yan.. verbal lang yan so we have no guarantee what will happen IF we ever try to apply for warranty..and then i-dedeny ng HARI bec of 3 month or even past 5 month lapse...

    * Based sa mga past few posts here, some guys are NOT following this 3 month rule. Or some guys are saying they will stop going to case once they hit 20K... (pwede kaya gumawa tayo ng POLL how many Hyundai users are ignoring this PMS rule ?)

    * like Nighthawk, I also have suking gas station and mechanic. I have my old Lancer and old Mazda Van serviced there. Pwede pa akong Home Service on Sundays sa mechanic ko, cheaper pa nga kesa shop, kumita pa sya So im wondering if doon na ako magpa PMS if VOIDED rin na pala Warranty ko ...

    * IMm29, you said you already think your warranty is voided for not following their rule.. yet you still plan to go to the case till 20K (1 1/2 year from now pa siguro, you said) May i respectfully ask why wait till then pa before start going to your suking talyer? For myself, im thinking baka my my Accent 2011 is still a new model, baka di pa sila sanay sa talyer since most people are "conned" into going to casas nga.. If new model kasi baka di pa alam yung mga bukasan, parts, etc...

    * Nighthawk, btw, when did you get your Tucson ? And when did you start going to your suking gas station for PMS? From the start ba 1K or 5K, or recently lang 10k, 20k? So you already accepted that you dont have Warranty anymore?

pag void na warranty bakit sa casa pa you will spend lots of money sayang lang pero may isang kagandahan lang kasi they will do the routine check up for your kilometer reading pms yun pattern nila sa mga talyer basta change oil lang unless your a technically know how person alam mo pa pacheck mo.

June 2010 yung Tucson CRDi niya.

AFAIK from 1000km PMS to 15000km PMS si Abad Santos ang gumawa. Motul CRDi Specific gamit niya before. Ngayon 20000km siya nagpa-PMS sa labas at nag-Kixx oil.

*NGT: Ilan na mileage ng Tucson mo? 24470 na ako as of today. Motul palang nabili ko. Haha. Yung Oil filter, fuel filter at rear brake pads sa Good gear ko na rin bibilihin. Tapos as usual gagawin ni Las Pinas.

actually, i went to service lang on 1k, 5k and 10k. i totally ditched the 15k service.

tapos when i hit 20k i bought my own parts and have it serviced sa suking gas station. Ive used the motul oil for like 10k km.
nung nag drain its still some what clean. haha. Then put in kixx turbo oil.

then i did my 25k service a few weeks ago, upon draining the oil, its some what clean paren, i think if i want to, i can still stretch it to 10k for every oil changes, pero since the oil is dirt cheap and quite good quality, i will have it replaced every 5k to keep the engine and turbo happy.

oil filter i always use orig, and its dirt cheap * 450 each. sa cabin filter i bought another replacement 250 pesos lang, DIY lang ako nag palit, its quite easy also. even if i replace it every 5k i wont mind. haha keeps the evaporator clean.

yung rear pads ko was found to be worn, i bought at fronte around 530 for the set. quite good also.

i conclude that maintaining your car can be cheap as well, you just have to know what to do, where to buy, and have the correct shop to do the works.

btw SG my current mileage is now at 25780km

The reason I'm planning on going at least until 20,000 kms is because of what you mentioned in the first paragraph i quoted above. It's a big gray area, and IMO, subject to (mis)interpretation. They admit it themselves that not a few will be able to go for PMS 4 times a year. And by that, they might be more lax with that rule. I might be able to squeeze in some warranty-able items within the period. It's just a might. Bahala na.

    so far everything works fine.

    some issues where:
    1. aircon control sometimes hangs. This i understand that either increasing the thermostat will wake up the aircon control unit.
minor issues only which i can handle.

    2. Brake switch sometimes fails. like once in every 6 months? Now hindi na bumalik. and if it did, brake switches costs so cheap, i may even DIY the replacement of this, its so simple.

hmm.. so far i dont have any other issues with the car. so far so good.

Bro, you mean hindi totoo na pag hindi mo sinundan yung 3 months eh i-void yung warranty mo?? So, puede base on kms lang ang PMS interval and not every 3 months or every 5,000 kms w/c ever comes first. Kindly clarify for all of us. Kasi pag ka alam ng lahat kailangan talaga dalhin sa Casa every 3 months even if hindi pa na-abot yung kms travelled.

    Thanks in advance.

do as everyone else does. hangang 20,000km pm lang ang sa casa, after that sa labas na. sayang pera.
