Is it true that the price for the Getz will be increasing soon?

I'll probably be test driving the Getz tomorrow. We'll see how it goes.

I had a chance to test drive the Getz earlier today. The thing that immediate caught my attention were the brakes. It wasn't very good. Stepping on the brakes causes the car, as well as everyone inside it, to lurch forward before coming to a stop. This happens even if I step on the brakes slowly. I wonder if Getz owner also experience the same thing.

I have no prolems with the brakes. Maybe the problem is just an aberration.

Thanks for the info, ET1. I've just finished browsing through a couple of Getz forums (getzclub and hyundai-forums) and some of the Getz owners do experience some sort of brake problem in the form of recurring knocking sounds. It seems that Hyundai is aware of this and has issued a safety bulletin. I'll try to discuss this further with the dealer tomorrow and see what happens.

I also test drove the Matrix Diesel, and it's brakes were just fine.

i had 14km/l consumption.. combined city, expressway and provincial driving..

route was makati-la union, la union-manaoag and back.. I just got my GETZ last Friday and am now reading 800+ in the ODO..

same with ET1, i have not experienced any problem on my brakes... Aircon is good, malamig pa din (no. 2) kahit 5 adults and 2 toddlers ang sakay, travelin from 10-12nn..

about 2 weeks ago... i saw 2 full truckloads, about 6 cars per truck yata...going southbound laguna along the old highway, sa may calamba area. kala ko honda jazz, then on closer look, dun ko lang nakita yung emblem ng hyundai sa harap then "Getz" sa likod. from the looks of the paint, parang di pa polished masyado. baka kako for finishing and polishing pa sya.
kung maglalabas sila ng crdi version nyan... ok yan for city driving.

Agree. Power is much adequate for city driving.

However, I really felt the difference in the provincial (two-lane) roads, esp when overtaking.. I was used to driving a 1.8L car or 2.7L pick-up when going to the north, so on my first time cruising with Getz, I was craving for more power.. But I have to lower down my expectation because it's just a 1.1L, then had to adjust my driving style to fit with this cutie car..

Overall, the power is just enough, one just need to adjust to it if he/she is used to driving a higher displacement car..

The reason why I bought Getz is to have a vehicle for city use. I want a car na tipid sa gas and small enough to fit it tight parking spaces. I use my truck or my wife's 1.6l sedan for out of town trips.
