yun lang nakwento 1 full tank nya daw manila to tugegarao taz 3 ata sila sakay...traffic nga sa Dalton pass kakauwi ko lang isabela last week...
18-19 is sissy stuff. On my mixed drives (60% highway, 40% traffic), I got 21-23 km/l with the Eon.
All it takes is a light foot and a conscious effort to stick to 80 km/h. Straight highway driving can yield in excess of 26 km/l.
The big handicap with the Eon, as with all small cars, is poor aerodynamics. Short cars cannot be made as aerodynamic as long cars... which is why the most aerodynamic short car on the market, the Picanto, is still over cd 0.30. The Prius C is stuck at 0.28. The bigger, heavier and longer Prius is around 0.24 (if I recall).
Plus the tiny tires have too much deformation and squidge. You want something stiffer, as every tire deflection and deformation costs you gasoline.
Pumped up to 50 psi, driven at 60-70 km/h, with a lot of coasting, I bet 30-35 km/l should be possible from Manila to Tugegarao... as long as you avoid all traffic.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
Just to update you guys, I already racked up about 5500+ km with my Eon.
Here's my feedback:
I usually set my psi at 36. (33 is the recommendation for normal use and 36 for heavy load based on what's written in the door)
City driving with heavy traffic (bumper to bumper) - I used to get about 8km-10km/l when I was a new driver with a heavy foot. Now I usually get about 12km/l on the average and these are with horrid traffic conditions.
City driving with light to moderate traffic - about 13-14km/l
Highway driving - I get about 19.5km/l with spirited driving at an average speed of 100km/h sometimes goes up to 120km/h. I'm pretty sure I can get more than 26km/l if I stick to about 60-80km/h like the other Eon owners do. I rarely do highway driving so I want to enjoy the higher speeds and I hear it's good for the engine to rev it up a bit occassionally.
Cruising speed is at about 80km/h. Sometimes can go up to 100km/h provided that there's proper momentum and a good decline on highway. If I want to speed up more and it would seem a bit forced.
The Eon seems stable at about 100km/h but at that speed the steering wheel is too sensitive as any small movement in the steering wheel can make the car move sideways.
Torque is good enough to pull heavy loads. It's just not advisable to do it always. 3 light passengers and engine doesn't feel stressed out. With 2 heavy passengers though weighing about 240 pounds each, engine does feel stressed.
Anyway, magkaron kaya ulit ng promo ang RCBC this coming June katulad nung last year?

then nag try ako on yung AC, jan lnag umiikot yung radiator fan...
hindi ko rin na check ung radiator fan if umiikot bah during long drive, 1-2hrs
but stable naman yung gauge nya, 3 bars lng yung heat indicator (normal)
then yung water reservoir niya, then hindi gaano nag babah
ano assumption nito? may sensor bah to in a certain heat tsaka cya mag ro-rotate
or if mag AC lng talaga siya iikot.
