Nissan used to have the reputation of having poor suspension especially when they first made their cars FWD. My Nissan cars, the Sentra JX & SGX had poor suspension durability which can also be partly blamed on the very poor road conditions before. Noon, lahat ng kalye may lubak, Alon at butas. Korean cars improved dramatically a couple of years ago, especially when they hired Europeans to design their cars. Korean cars may be branded Korean, but the major parts are European. In 10 years time, who knows?

I find my Hyundai more reliable than my Vios.
Naka ilang balik ako ng casa sa Toyota dahil sa kalampag sa ilalim.
Samantala sa Starex wala ako naging problema

We used to have a Mazda 2, kalampagin din sya. Rack and pinion too, I think. I had a turbo issue with a Nissan and a cooling issue with an Isuzu. I'm in no way singling out Hyundai. For me complaining about the things you want to improve in your car is a good thing. Hopefully the manufacturer will take notice and improve on the next model. I could make a thread for each car we have and fill it up with complaints hehe.

Are our Hyundais reliable? Yes, but the durability of some parts seems to be an issue.

Agree. Hyundai's are good now. I see Accent taxis with over 200,000kms on their odometers and the diesel engine still runs smokeless. Meron lang slight kalampag na marinig ka sa suspension... but I think this is acceptable for a car with over 200,000km on the clock.

Pano kasi mentality ng Pinoy. Isipin mo same mileage and same kalampag problems and same age ng car.
Pag Japanese brand sasabihin na normal lang daw yun na may kalampag kasi matanda na. Pero pag Hyundai or Kia sasabhin Korean car kasi kaya sirain

Spot on. We need to get rid of that mentality. I was guilty of that actually until I owned a Hyundai myself.

I was really impressed with the build of my Accent. More solid in so many aspects compared to my GM City.

Iba talaga ang solid feel ng Japanese if you ask me, these Hyundais just came in as social media is happening. Tingin ko swerte Lang sila sa timing

Reliability wise and a lesson of history, the Japs were even popular before the social media days and they're still popular. Unlike the American cars, na may social stigma pre or post social media,

    Yun dapat ng basihan

I complained to Hyundai on the following 2012 Tucson problems and they acted on it naman:
    1. Noisy break pads.
    2. Partially stuck up key switch.
    3. Malfunction front passenger window switch.

I like the ReVGT engine because its frugal but powerful.
My kids find the suspension kinda stiff in long drives. Well, what do you expect from an AWD.

Bilib ako sa durability ng hyundai. My Mazda 3 at 71000 kms, I replaced shocks, engine mount, stab links. Pero yung i10 ng gf ko at 85000 kms daily driven pa wala pa napapalitan except the pan belt and break pads but still runs very good. IMHO ang tibay ng hyundai.

BTT: No problem with the Hyundai vehicles that I had (some years ago) and still have now...

Very minimal maintenance expenses,- and no problem with the ride.....

Bro CVT, you got a point here but we need to expound to understand clearly by our newbie members. the japanese engineers have already made several wear & tear testing of Mz3's shocks, engine mount, stab links etc.. while the car is in motion but they did not anticipate those parts could also be worn-out in sudden jolted repeatedly by human. You japanesey engineers, you're not actually a clevel people huh... Haha

Noisy brake pads could mean they are worn out, stuck up switches and power window issues are minor. Did anything mechanically major go wrong with the car sir?
