Help!!! My Getz Losses Power

Model: Getz 2008 1.1L
Mileage: 23,000 km
Background: Binili ko ng 2nd hand * 20,000 km. Noong una, di ko pansin na mahina ang hatak, pero nung inaakyat ko na sya sa flyover, megamall parking and other inclined roads, hirap na hirap sya umakyat kahit 1st gear lang. Nakapag drive na ako ng Getz 2008 before, malakas humatak at talagang makakaayat ng baguio. Pero etong nabili kong 2nd hand, imposibleng makaakyat kahit tagaytay lang. Di rin ako makaover take ng maayos kahit tricycle lang nasa highway ng Naic Cavite!!! Hirap na hirap talaga and makina...kahit patay ang aircon.

Observations:
1. Mahina humatak (from stop, overtake and inclined roads)
2. Halata ang engine noise
3. Matigas ang clutch pedal
4. Matigas ang accelerator
5. Mababa RPM (around 1,200 - 2,000 RPM) kahit na todo apak ng pedal pag aakyat sa flyover (low gears)
6. Fuel effeciency: (City = 5-7 km/L) (Hi-way: 10 km/L). Di normal sa Getz to kc yung Getz ng pinsan ko kaya ko ng 20 km/L sa highway
7. Matigas ang shift gear. Yung sa pinsan ko sobrang lambot, kahit isang daliri lang.
8. Parang na Ondoy kc may kalawang sa loob ng fuel tank (parang nabuksan na)
9. Check lahat ng ikot ng gulong, smooth nag free-wheel

Diagnosed for possible clutch problem:
No clutch slipping found. Hindi nag oover rev kapag tinapakan accelator. Engine dies pag binitiwan from stop (walang tapak sa gas). Walang unusual sound sa clutch, except that medyo maganit pag nag shishift ng gear. Baka slave cyliner to. Pero maganda talaga mag engage ang clutch. Nag check na din ang mekaniko, ok pa daw clutch.

Improvements done:
1. Changed engine oil (Castrol Magnatec)
2. Changed gear oil (caltex)
3. Changed spark plugs (Bosch platinum)
4. Changed oil filter (Vic)
5. Changed fuel filter & pump (OEM - these are broken parts)
6. Changed high tension wires (OEM)
7. Adjust valve clearance - tune-up

Result after improvements:
1. Engine noise improve
2. Engine sound is great pag pinapaiyak (gear dis-engaged)
3. Mahina pa din humatak
4. Effeciency slightly improved (city 7-8 km/L) (Hi-way 12km/L) --> di pa din normal

Suspect ko baka from input ng transmission to differential. What do you think guys? Meron pa pang pwedeng suspect?

More things done:
1. Cleaned throttle
2. Cleaned air filter assembly
3. Checked air filter, still look new

Not done:
1. Not yet cleaned injectors
2. ECU diagnose/reset

Compression test comes to mind. OBD-II diagnostics would also tell you if the O2 sensors are still getting readings that are within specs or if the sensors themselves are defective. How's the burn on the sparkplugs?

Check also the obvious like stuck brakes.

Baka nga low engine compression ito.

Worst comes to worst, baka engine overhaul na ang pangmatagalang solusyon...

Ha, ha,.. akala ko ba ayos ang clutch, no slippage.
Kaya ako natawa kasi sasabihin ko sana ibaba ang clutch kaso pag dating sa bottom..iyon.

No offence po, talagang nagulat ako kasi halos na cover na lahat ni sir ang dapat gawin except clutch. peace

Ako rin natawa at nagulat. Sinubukan ng mekaniko paandarin from full-stop at 3rd gear, umaandar sya at di namamatay makina. Repair cost = P10k ++.

Actually last month pa to na repair, ngayon lang ako nakapag update. Sa ngayon, good running condition na sya, di ko nga lang sure kung good as new kc first car ko to at gamit na gamit na sya....

sir, so hows your FC now? just curious..bec. mine is averaging 6-7km/L 2011 getz..i've been to casa like 4 times already complaining about the FC and they even test drive the unit they said na walang problem at ok pa daw pag 7km/L its normal pa raw.

With a subcompact car like Getz, I think that's not normal with your car Madam. I was an owner of 1.1L M/T Getz for almost 6 years and my FC average for city driving here in San Fernando is 12 - 14 Km per liter, although traffic condition here is moderate, never that I remember that I've got an FC lower than 12. Most Hyundai casa people are known for this reasoning especially if they don't really know how to fix the car. Is your car a 1.1 or the 1.4 liter engine? Auto or Manual Transmission? May contribution factor din po kasi sa FC yung driving style nyo. Just my 2 cents.

pag brand new mataas talaga consumption ng gas kasi mahina pa humatak magbabago pa yan enjoy lang =)

sir mine is 1.1 manual 2011 model. I'm at 7k odo reading, actually before nag 10km/L n sya after the 1k PMS, then after sometime pababa ng pababa. After 5k pms it went back to 6-7km/L (using fulltank method)...considering my driving style & traffic condition and comparing it to other 1.1 getz, it seems na mababa po talaga ang sakin
