    thanks;

Mas matipid sa fuel, mas malakas sa akyatin at mas matulin plus mas tahimik. Mas mataas lang PMS cost dahil yung 4d56 eh 6 liters lang dati ngayon 6.5 na.

And last but not the least and definitely the most important factor, mas environment friendly CRDi.

    Power

    2.5L engine:
    Tci (Gen3 and Gen4 Starex) - 100HP max
    CRDi (Gen3 Starex) - 145HP+ max
CRDi VGT (Gen4 Grand Starex) - 174HHP+ max

Translates to superior power to weight ratio,- which translates to better Km/L performance.

AFAIK, mayroong Gen2 na CRDi. Like the earlier Starex in our country, they were gray market imports.

AFAIK, the power to weight ratio of the Gen 3 is better than that of the GS.

You are correct bro.... Medyo mabigat talaga ang GS vs. Gen3,- by 500Kg....

The approx 30HP increase in power unfortunately, could not offer better power-to-weight ratio....

Just to add lang, most if not all crdi engines are also turbo intercooled. More powerful and much smoother ang crdi, But when it comes to fuel economy halos same lang crdi vs regular turbo intercooled engines. I had a gen 1 starex before na turbo intercooled and a gen 3 crdi (both a/t), Pareho silang 5-6km/l city driving.

^^^ Bro, I'd say that long term, mas magastos ang maintenance ng CRDi/(VGT) vs. TCi.

Pero, regular PMS,- pareho lang halos....

    I agree with you, bro.

However, sa highway driving,- mas matipid ang CRDi variant, because of that extra hh(mmm)ppp...

Mas malakas hatak ng manual most of the time for cars.

Assuming both are driven the same way, an auto transmission is more expensive to maintain in the long run, sa manual kasi palit lang lining etc ok na, pag auto transmission bumigay malaking gastos, at bihira kayang repair. Pero mga auto transmission lately matitibay na. Alagaan mo lang sa fluids. Sa starex I've never had a problem sa auto transmission kahit yung tci ko na 1998 model pa, until I sold it nung 2010, yung gen 3 crdi ko wala pa naman problem sa transmission even though 6 years old na siya.kaya nga kumuha rin ako ng grand starex dahil satisfied ako sa performance niya.
