    Hi,

I'm JD, proud owner of a 3-year-old black Hyundai Getz. I must also say that my pops owned a Starex and a Grace. So yes, we love Hyundai's.

But I'm a newbie here, I just registered.

Here's what I need help with:

I'm eyeing a really-good-condish surplus Hyundai Galloper 2 (from Korea, needless to say). I already found a thread here about things that I must consider in terms of the car's condish, and it was really helpful. The reason for this post is different.

You see, I just found out yesterday that I'm dealing with a Korean (He actually sells a lot of other Hyundai and Kia vehicles). Has anyone tried something dealing with foreigners? Is this a good thing or a bad thing? Do I need to watch out for something? I'm just scared of getting caught and accused of not paying taxes or buying a hot car.

I hope someone out there can help me. Thanks in advance!

Dealing with a foreigner isn't any worse than dealing with a local. If they're good, they're good, if they're bad, they're bad. Just make sure all the papers are in order.

buying a Galloper is like buying a Subic Pajero... BUT... it won't be a RHD-LHD conversion, so you save yourself that worry. Don't know if they used original Mitsubishi parts on that one or used Korean sourced electrics and mechanicals... You can check the electronics under the hood when you go to view it, though.

Buying it will likely be like buying a local Pajero/Montero. Check for the same issues and problems that you would check for when buying one of those.

HELP! advise in getting a surplus hyundai
