Let me start with my letter to HARI but ommitted certain details:

    To whom it may concern:

This is in response to the request of April of HARI to email the concerns that we had regarding this matter. My name is *, owner of a Hyundai Starex van, with plate number *, purchased at Hyundai Shaw on April of 2009.

Unfortunately, I am one of the victims of the flooding caused by Typhoon Ondoy in September of 2009, and my van was submerged up to the flooring of my Starex. After the waters have subsided, I had my Starex towed to Hyundai Shaw. Hyundai Shaw then had it detailed and did the necessary maintenance steps in order to restore my vehicle. This was all paid for and approved by my insurance agency, *. I got to use the vehicle for two months and it broke down.

On December 28, 2009, I had my Starex towed to Hyundai Shaw again. This was again being repaired through my insurance company, *. The transmission was stuck on 4th gear when going forward. It took Hyundai more than a month before they diagnosed what the problem was and the part number of the part that needs to be replaced. They identified the part number only on January 29. Up to this day, April 22, my Starex has not been repaired.

Another thing that we found out recently was when we were following up around April 15 through * and told him that we were going to visit our vehicle, he informed us that our vehicle was no longer there; that on March 9, they moved our Starex from their casa to their storage area in Taytay. Apparently this is their new Honda dealership.

Here are the complaints that I have:

    1. The length of time to get my Starex is obviously too long. Our Honda Civic which was damaged more extensively is already running for more than a month.

    2. They moved our vehicle without our knowledge and consent. Had we not asked directly, they would have not told us where our vehicle is. I think this is in violation of my right and the law.

    3. The current condition of my van, worth 1.7 million pesos, is totally unacceptable. It is dirty and laiden with dust and trash all over. It is also in an unsafe place as that storage area is under construction. Please refer to the attached pictures.

It is with utmost disappointment that I expect HARI to help me out in the current situation. Your records will show that I was a previous owner of another Hyundai vehicle,a Tucson. I still have plans of acquiring the new Tucson, however, this experience terribly makes me think twice.

    Thank you.

So on May 1, I pulled my vehicle out. I called Pitstop and asked them if they could repair. They said they wanted to look at it. I brought the Starex to Pitstop. After 2 hours, they diagnosed the problems. Got an estimate immediately. Told me in two days, if I say yes, the Starex would be good to go.

    That was awesome!

So I talked to my insurance company, and they said Hyundai Shaw will still charge them. I mean, what????

So I contact their Service Advisor and he told me, we cannot cancel the order for the part and my insurance company is still liable to pay that. So because of that, I cannot give the go ahead to Pitstop because Hyundai Shaw is holding me hostage through the LOA my insurance company gave them. And they do not even have an ETA still.

I am so frustrated. Any advice?

Oh my God!!!, that is a such a horrible State!!!!! Never thought HARI casa's where such a**h*les! Your van is stored in practically a junkyard, and why is it among suzuki APV's? Have you asked your insurance for a settlement option? In your shoes sir I'd pull out your van ASAP and store it temporarily in your garage, at least your paint job is spared of such horid treatment and further damage. Its already 5 months, that is such a long time to wait, I think its hard to believe that part of your van are not readily available. Try bringing it to Hyundai e-rod., I think the sta.fe club highly recomends this casa.
