97 hyundai starex noise

good day mga sir..help naman..im hearing loud noise sa ilalim ng starex pag naka 1st gear ako then the noise seems to subside pag high gear na pro meron pa din..noise nya is parang lata na mlakas tlga na nguuntugan..tnx po!

di kaya crossjoint ng propeller shaft? Patsek mo kung naalog na at malaki ang play baka yun lang yun.

hi sir..ang ginawa po ng mechanic ko is pina-align sa machine shop ang propeller pro no go..he replaced the cross joint din,still no go..nun pinaangat nmen,they suspected na sa transmission naman daw?baka daw bearing ang problema..pro i think its the propeller tlga kc khit neutral meron pa din konteng noise,lumalakas lang pag nakagear na..tnx po..

what about the center bearing?

the best diagnosis is to go to any gasoline station w/ lifter, lift the vehicle enough for it to engage the first gear with the engine running then go underneath and personally have yourself inspect and hear the noise you're mentioning, that way you can somehow pinpoint the culprit - transmission or differential...HTH!

sir finally binaba na po tranny then nakita na bungi bungi na ang 1st gear ng auto ko..ung 2nd,3rd,4th and 5th gear ok naman..tapos sbe ng mechanic ko un mga bearings daw palitin na din tapos maalog na daw..he suggested na palit tranny na daw ako,OMG!! ngcanvass ako sa banawe,15k pinakamababa..ng2nd opinion ako sa dati gumagawa sa auto ko na talyer..ang sbe sken if 1st gear lang naman pala ang sira,y not un na lang ang palitan,sa banawe meron daw surplus,plus mga bearings..parang overhaul ang mangya2re..any suggestion mga gurus kung ano dpat ko gawin..if mgbuy na lang ba ko surplus na tranny o palitan na lang un 1st gear and mga bearings and stuff?help naman po..

palitan nalang yung dapat palitan sa tranny mo. yung surplus, hindi mo alam kung ano ang topak naman nun.

yikes transmission na pala sira nung sa iyo. Well, just replaced my center bearing kahapon and good shop to buy parts is to go to fronte (banawe) or Goodgear (pasay). Hope maayos mo din yung starex mo.

Good day! sir patulong naman,may starex ako 97 model matic sya. may problem is may nagbliblink sa dashboard ko HOLD ang nagpapakita.. ano po problema nun?thanks in advanced

i'll try to share what i gather from the manual...i believe you have a switch on your left side just above the fuel lid release lever indicating "PWR" "ECT" "HOLD", just press the HOLD switch to turn if off...HOLD mode is used when starting your vehicle on a road slippery surface from snow or the like and it will start smoothly in second gear otherwise theres no use for it...
