Just when I thought Toyota was offering something exciting with the 86, Hyundai launches an all-new Gen Coupe. C Magazine announced that they did a comparo on the 2 but the article isn't on their web site. Oh well, might as well buy the magazine. Correction: face-lift version of new GC is about 50 hp more or less, Pre face-lift was rated at around 220+ bhp for hi octane fuel (91+ I believe), nonetheless that's still a considerable power gap

There was actually some rumors floating around that HARI would be bringing the updated V6 but still retains the old 2.0T (220~HP). But I am positive that those will stay as rumors, else they hurt their sales, and miss the opportunity to outsell the 86 for 2012.

Wuuuut? Why? IMO The 2.0T would now cannibalize the V6 sales, unless of course you really need the Brembo package. You could get something nicer than the Brembo though, so really, why buy the V6 now?

Did they intentionally do away with the new direct injection just cause they have no competition with the V6 RWD category? But the mustang is coming so...bad move HARI?

Medyo hindi nga magandang move yan. Mas OK sakin magtaas sila ng 100K basta updated makina, kaysa same price tapos aesthetics lang nabago. Pero kung nagtaas pa sila ng presyo sa 3.8, aba lokohan na yan.

Yung Veloster nga GDI yung pinasok ng HARI tapos biglang bawi pagdating sa GC?

Oh well, may Hancars naman sa may gusto ng GDI.

Ni-launch lang ng HARI yung Veloster pero... nasaan na? Tingin ko urong din sila eh. Hahaha. Mukhang walang market ang Veloster dito. Sa totoo lang sa price ng Veloster, Toyota 86 nalang kukunin ko.

Yung 2.0T-GDi na bago, no choice kundi Blaze100 ang gas mo. Haha.

Sayang yung 3.8 GDi. Mas matipid sana sa gas yun. Wrong move talaga.

May difference ba sa itsura yung grey-market na Veloster atsaka yung galing HARI? Kagabi lang nakakita ako mga limang Veloster sa may Fort, hiwahiwalay so hindi yun meet. May market siguro para sa mga porma lang ang habol.

Feeling ko naman kung may pambili ka ng GC, dapat may pam-Blaze ka rin hahaha :bwahaha:

Si Pitstop meron na 2013 Genesis Coupe. 1.9xxM for 2.0T-GDi tapos 2.2M for 3.8GDi..

Parehong naka-Brembo. Yung 2.0T-GDi wala pa spoiler.

Eurostandard (autoaccess branch in bicutan?) IIRC was selling the 2.0T M/T (saw the actual unit) for somewhere near 1.7m (lost the brochure), and yes wala rin spoiler. It was not the base variant though, so you get some bells and whistles(sunroof, leather), though I didn't notice if it has the Brembo pack.

Order basis only, ETA in 10 days. Kakagat na sana ako, if it weren't for my reservation on the 86. But then the HARI's GC is almost out no? I'm still reluctant in trusting these import guys, because of my lack of experience with them.

You have a very valid point about the veloster's market segment crisis. They might actually win because of practicality in the cheapish-sporty car segment, but no one really knows. The segment is fairly young in the local scene. All I can say is that HARI is being totally undercut, play-by-play by the importers. Oh hello Hancar's Veloster Turbo.
