    Posting for a friend.

    2012 Elantra A/T

We observed his Car kanina. Yung idle kasi biglang drop to probably 500 then back t normal.

Ramdam mo din yung nginig ng engine as the idle drop.

Dinala sa Casa kinabit sa scanner normal naman daw lahat.

Told him na only use 91 ron and not higher than that, hindi ba meet the minimum and you can opt to get the higher ron?

Kutob naman namen baka bad fuel nakarga kaya ganun? Possible kaya?

    throttle body cleaned?

    if not..
remove the negative on the battery. and remove the throttle body (10mm nut driver). *loosen the air ducts' clamps and the vacuum hose clamp to access the throttle body.

napalitan na yun pcv? it could be cleaned(carb cleaner) and checked. remove the clamp(number 2 sa picture) and use a 22mm socket to remove the pcv. it should rattle(simple test). hand tight lng when putting it back.

if its stuck open, no vacuum- might causes misfire then low idle.

or it could be a clogged fuel filter-another reason for low idle.

Hard to see by which metric the Elantra wins over the FD pag similar condition, except for 'rarity' on the road.

    FD, definitely.

It's one of the classic Hondas, a class-leader in its time.

I had an FD for 5 years, It's just like any other car. Pag tumatanda, nasisira. Yung engine support lagi nasisira. Yung aux fan sobrang ingay. I like the Kia/Hyundai 6-speed AT better than the FD's 5 speed. Parang kapos FD sa overtaking. But when it comes to steering I like the hydraulic PS of FD better than MDPS of Hyundai/Kia (not artificial feedback), kaya lang nag leak din w/in 5 years of ownership.

Hello noob car owner here and car is Elantra 2011 (1.8L AT variant).

I had my car checked and according to the mechanic it needs to have the ff changed: Engine Oil, Automatic Transmission Fluid, Drive Belt and Spark Plugs.

    Question #1:
    - Ok po ba Aisin engine oil and ATF? Saw these in Lazada:
    5W-30 full synthetic oil https://bit.ly/2UVVzYa
    4L full synthetic ATF https://bit.ly/2CC2M8Z

    Question #2:
    - Any idea kung ano oil filter niya? Cartridge o element type? What size?

    Question #3:
    - Is it true that only 4L is required for ATF change? Manual says AT is 7.3L pero sabi ng mechanic 4L lang?

    Question #4:
    - San po kaya makakabili ng murang iridium spark plugs in Banawe?

    Thanks po sa sasagot!
