Thanks for the info. Will it still be priced in the low P800k region?
OT: Nearly 900K yung price. But I still find it value for money..
Let's talk about this in the Accent thread, not here.
*SG: Kung may demand pa ang 2.0S-L they should have still sold it here perhaps at 1.3-1.4M, but kung wala nga bibili then why bother selling it?
I'm just saying majority of Filipinos can't afford a TOTL model or would rather buy a mid variant. Because I think the majority thinks that they can buy bigger cars with the same amount of money of a TOTL car.
*renzo:
Tama moneyed people typically buys the TOTL models pero konti lang ang rich people compared sa middle class lalo na compared sa poor dito sa Philippines.
So kung rich ang bibili they won't buy a compact sedan even with lots of features kasi they would buy midsize cars, SUVs, CUVs, or european cars.
With that, I think that Hyundai has the benefit to entice people with the price instead of the features.
Also, I think that there are very few car enthusiasts that actually buy the TOTL compact sedans. Kahit pa siguro lahat ng nasa forums na to bumili (which is close to impossible) it may still not be enough for TOTL compacts to sell.
Also, who brags their compact sedans anyway?
I'm just thinking na HARI doesn't want to happen what they did with the Diesel Elantra, i30 A/T gas, i30 M/T Diesel. Which is scare people away with the sticker price. Maybe HARI is willing to sacrifice (for now) what forumers and car enthusiasts will say and pray that this Elantra will sell finally.
Which are 1.2m each.
Antulin siguro nito pag galing sa full stop.
Pero kung close to 900k, pwede na compact car, pickup at MPV mabili with that money.![]()
The old Accent was purely DIESEL. Yes the TAXI ACCENT!
The Getz at one point was also offered in diesel. Pero mahal eh kaya walang bumili...
That's why they are given the option to choose from the base models or the high-end models.
Not all people prefer europeans because of its high maintenance. And some might not even consider cars with high ground clearance ( SUVs or CUVs ) simply because they want the comfort that a compact sedan is giving. So kung rich ang bibili they won't buy a compact sedan even with lots of features kasi they would buy midsize cars, SUVs, CUVs, or european cars.
Not all TOTL buyers are filthy rich. Some are even in the middle class which just happens to afford one.
These people MIGHT afford buying a TOTL compact sedan but cannot anymore buy a TOTL midsize vehicle such as the Camry 3.5Q because for them it's too much.
With that, I think that Hyundai has the benefit to entice people with the price instead of the features.
People still take a look at the features. Some people aren't cheap enough to consider a cheap car with simple features. They happen to go check other vehicles which offers MORE features for their convenience at a much greater price of course.
Then again, Toyota, Honda, Nissan or whatever car make for that matter is not after on the sales of their TOTL variants since they've got lots of sales already on the lower ones. The TOTL variants are after on a different community of people. People who are after features and convenience. Yes, they may be few but they're not " extinct " ..Also, I think that there are very few car enthusiasts that actually buy the TOTL compact sedans. Kahit pa siguro lahat ng nasa forums na to bumili (which is close to impossible) it may still not be enough for TOTL compacts to sell.
Lots, man. Lots. Also, who brags their compact sedans anyway?
Just look at the owners of the modded Civic SiR's out there.
Ya. But people are after sa features. Kaya they tend to opt for the grey market units which is more expensive yet fitted with complete features.
That's why you see more gray market LC's out there compared to local ones. That's why you see more HVX's out there compared to the Gold starexes.
I'm just thinking na HARI doesn't want to happen what they did with the Diesel Elantra, i30 A/T gas, i30 M/T Diesel. Which is scare people away with the sticker price. Maybe HARI is willing to sacrifice (for now) what forumers and car enthusiasts will say and pray that this Elantra will sell finally.![]()
The i30 is simply OVERPRICED. At 1M+ ? who would buy a BMW 1-series rip off when there are other options that are better -- Honda Civic FD 2.0S, Toyota Altis 2.0V, Mitsubishi Fortis GT

hindi kalokohan *SG, kayabangan diba lol. i have nothing against kayabangan, it makes the world go round.
^That reminds me of Top Gear's reviews on the Volkswagen Phaeton:
:hysterical:It shows that you have money. But it also shows that you don't know how to use it.
It actually looks like a bigger honda city. This car will sell well.
With the bland 2012 honda civic, weird-looking 2010 mazda 3 and 2012 ford(Fix Or Repair Daily) focus as its competitors, panalo na ang hyundai sa compact sedan category.
you can critic this car all you want but this will be a best selling car once it hits the showrooms.
Another feature I'd like to have in the version they will bring here is the immobilizer.
As much as possible iniiwasan natin yung light colored interior kasi dumihin..![]()
Big claim on that one. But I highly doubt it'll be the "best selling car". In fact, if it does, I'll crap a brick. Malayo pa sila in dethroning the Altis (taxi anyone?) and the Civic (aftermarket support) in the compact car category.
Only thing weird with the refreshed Mz3 is the grinning fascia which is a love-hate thing (mostly hate), but it wins in interior layout hands down!
Can't comment pa sa Honda Civic, not much has changed in terms of design, true. But there's the adage of "why fix if its not broken". If Honda manages to up the ante for interior refinement and engine options, that's a tough battle ahead.

US version review...
medyo underwhelming talaga yung spec sheet ng low and mid end model ng elantra, and the accent wears the trademark grill better
