Maaring LEMON nga yan. Ang GLS ko normal unleaded E10 ang kinakarga ko, minsan sa small oil player hindi sa big 3 di naman nagkaganyan (knock on wood). Maganda lang talaga ang hatak kapag higher grade na gasolina ang gamit, mas mahaba rin ang kilometrahe na inaabot. Sana maayos na ang problema mo sir.
Curious lang ako sir, do you park your elantra in an inclined surface? Meron po kasi start mechanism ang elantra na the foot brake should be fully depressed in order to start the vehicle. And parking on an inclined surface possibly interferes with the start mechanism since may tendency na maglock un hand brake kasi nga nakaincline. Nangyari na ren sa akin to before and no repairs were done. I just try to park in a flat surface or pag incline talaga, up to 3 clicks lang ng hand brake then lalagyab ko nalang ng kalso sa likod na gulong. This solved it for me, hope makatulong din sayo. :-)
Sorry mejo off topic, but to fellow elantra owners, nakapagpaundercoat na ba kayo? If so, hingi sana tips kung saan okay magpaundercoat, kung magkano at kung mauuwi rin un vehicle. I inquired sa casa and was told na iiwan daw kasi vehicle pag magpaundercoat.
Also, makiikihingi na ren sana ideas ng magandang upgrade sa busina. Thanks in advance! :-)
hindi na po naulit yung problem ko sa hard starting, napansin ko kapag nakargahan ko ng unleaded ng shell nagkakaproblem engine ng elantra ko. sa ngayon petron blaze na lang palagi kong kinakarga. pero minsan pansin ko parang naglolow power yung engine pero hindi naman sha ganun kalala and tolerable pa naman. regarding sa transmission napansin ko din na umiinit nga yung sa may cupholder, parang nagoverheat nga siguro kasi pansin ko minsan parang delay yung pagshift ng gear kapag sobrang init na dun sa cupholder. ang main concern ko sa elantra ngayon is yung lagutok sa steering and left front wheel, kahit sa maliit na lubak dinig yung lagutok.
Has anyone bought a hood insulator for the elantra? Wala kasi sya e... It helps lessen the heat coming from the engine going to the hood. It also helps lessen engine noise...
ok din naman sakin yung caltex kaya lang di ko ramdam ang hatak ng makina, hindi naman ako nagkaroon ng problem with caltex fuel, napansin ko dati tuwing maghard starting yung elantra ko nangangamoy gasolina, medyo malakas yung amoy, kaya naisip ko baka sa fuel pump problem ko, pero nung di na ako gumamit ng shell unleaded di na naulit yung hard starting.
Naghahanap din ako nyan sir pero kahit sa dealership wala.

sa akin kahit ano gas station whether big 3 or small player gamit ko so far no hard starting. Sinasadya ko talagang gamitan ng ibat ibang gas brand para malaman kung may problema while the car is still in the early year of warranty.
may 1 year na ba sa market ang current elantra? yung gamma engine nya, nagamit na din ba sya sa local market before?
Elantra in the market? I believe not yet because it was launch last year at MIAS. The 1.6L Gamma engine was here since Dec. 2010 launch of the Accent Blue. This accent unit served as test unit here in Manila until the Accent was available in the dealership. I can say that the 1.6L Gamma engine is compatible with our E10 blended gasoline. The 1.4L engine is the one that was not pre-tested locally before it went on sale. Likewise the Nu 1.8L mpi engine of Elantra GLS was not pre-test locally. This is the reason why I intentionally gas up to small & big oil player to see & find if the engine will misbehave, so far not yet (knock on wood)![]()
MIAS na ulit this weekend so 1 year na? So far i've not read any major issues with the Elantra - compared to the Accent that is - which is a good sign. I'm about 70% sure into getting one.. hayz.. nakaka wala lang talga kasi ng confidence kung pano mag handle ng problema tong HARI eh.

One year after the launch but not in the market because it took a while before elantra was available in the dealership. Sa sariling kung paniwala ang 1.6 gamma ay walang problema sa existing E10 gasoline natin. Ang NU 1.8L MPI hindi na test dito pero so far wala naman naging problema, at least in my case. Searching the global web, wala rin akong nabasa na serious engine problem even in international Hyundai Forum.
I am honestly getting real sick of this waiting game. Might just get a different car na lang. Been waiting since Feb and it's already holy week!
