Pero for sure meron na, baka hindi lang tsikoteer...

Kidding aside, might end up getting 1.4 A/T also. Pero kapag may nahanap na 1.6 Blue na Bronze, game na dun.

I was actually supposed to get a 1.6L Blue instead of the 1.4MT base. Don't get me wrong, there's no issues in terms of budget. I'll be migrating in a year's time due to work requirements and once I leave iha-handover ko lang din kasi sa bunso kong kapatid na magka-college at magagamit ko na lang pag makabakasyon ako dito.

Anyways, if it matters - I guess the main factors that made me pick the 1.4MT over the 1.6 Blue are:

• A 4-speed matic feels too restrictive for me. I guess I'm the type who finds the thrill in being able to shift and actually dictate the car to run at the RPM's I want, when I want. Kaya nga yung Lancer lang ang di ko binibitawang sasakyan ko na matic as it's 6 speed with manual override. If the Accent came with a 5-speed or better yet 6-speed matic with manual override, then it would've been a different story altogether
• Additionally as per tradition in the family, we'd like to learn driving cars starting with a manual. Considering my sister has just started driving Q2 of 2010, I thought it would help her refine her driving habits more (hoping anyways). Wala na kasing manual ang parents ko and ang nagagamit na lang ng kapatid ko for practice is yung Sportivo ko na definitely di bagay sa kanya. haha
• Safety-wise the 1.6L Blue is no doubt the better choice. However, considering my significant change in driving habit (from being speed-hungry to just downright slow and lazy hehe) and the consistency of the roads I travel in, IMHO I don't think it'd be necessary. I also want to make it a point to our bunso that these supplementary safety systems can no way replace seatbelts, nor should she gain confidence to drive faster (btw, she even drives faster than I did when I was her age. haha) just because the car's equipped with all the safety.
• Lastly the Chrome/Gloss finishing of the Blue's interior is albeit disappointing. Mas sleek tignan para sa akin yung matte finishing ng base. Plus, considering may supplier na din naman ako na mapagkukuhanan ng interior parts ng TOTL, suma total I can get those map lights, scuff plates, integrated HU (that looks better than what Hyundai's offering here) at a cost na I'd feel mas sulit at mas rewarding pag naipakabit (I find it fulfilling everytime ako yung nagpapadagdag ng amenities sa sasakyan, at times ako pa mismo nagkakabit) kaysa getting it by buying the TOTL spot on.

Ayun lang naman. Others find it demeaning or less-classy kapag base model, but as with the case here, there are factors aside from budgets that would dictate what variant you'll take. Btw, for fellow owners congrats and welcome to Tsikot. Basing from your post counts mukhang ako pa lang ata yung oldie ng Tsikot na nag-update pa dito. hehe Mine was sent back to warranty but hopefully when the issues are sorted out eh makapag-start tayo ng thread dito relating to general issues and inquiries for the Accent.

last july..bumili ng vios 1.3 E biyenan ko, pero bago bumili inaya ko cla ng bayaw ko n tingnan ang accent, wag n dw vios n lng...so vios indeed, nung nasa knila n, tumatama yung left foot nya sa foot rest pag umaapak s clutch at ang pangit dw ng car stereo(sori po s vios owner).... nung nag p kms check up ako, sumama sya at sumakay sa accent na naka display, ganda daw ng loob pati panel gauge at car stereo...ayaw kasing makinig ehh!
