This thing should be a lesson to product planners, responsible of customizing every features of each variants. Quality does not come cheap. You installed a 400php or whatever worth of alarm and keyless entry, and you would simply get what you have paid. Bottom line is, in the world of marketing superiority, every detail counts. And the situation simply stains a bit on HARI's reputation to bring in bang for the buck vehicles...

My own perspective, eh I don't care about this shitty alarm, as long as my dealer replaces it. On my case, I don't bother na having the alarm/keyless entry system replaced, because honestly, they would give you the same shitty unknown brand pa rin...

So a friendly advise, pakabit na kayo ng matinong alarm... 4k-5k range siguro.... It's cheaper than your car or could be cheaper than what is left inside.
I still would beg to differ bro..my so-called factory installed radio (Hyundai brand) just drained my car battery to complete dead..take note, it is made by and presumably installed by Hyundai. Yung crappy alarm natin na outsourced locally (cost cutting syempre) led me to conclude na other parts of this vehicle may be prone to breakage and may also develop problems due to these parts being contracted out to second party manufacturers as is common practice with all of the major veh manufacturers. So it is not easy for me not to associate these defects to the brand itself eh part na sya overall ng model na to. Ilang percent ng Hyundai vehicles believe it or not ay made somewhere else and does not bear the H brand. Quality is at stake dito and from the looks of it, Hyundai is missing on that regard terribly.

You guys are right by saying na if a part fails, nothing will stop Hyundai from sticking the same brand/thing in and it will eventually fail, of course causing us to get tired and scrap the warranty and buy a better parts outside. This is just a vicious practice and it does suck for us users. Never again big Hyundai..never again

Nope... Our head unit I presumed is locally installed bro...

    Why?

Because when I removed my headunit to install a new one, hindi magkapareho ang turnilyo ginamit (And I took out that headunit bro the moment I got the car). I posted that case here, di ko lang matandaan anong thread... Hyundai nga brand niyan, pero they were sourced din in bulk and install it here locally. I presumed din na rebadge ang headunit na yan coming from a mumurahing manufacturer.

Hehehe, and besides that headunit sounds crappy!

But again, I have my fair share of troubles owning a brand new car... 2 of them, hyundais... ang isa naman Honda... Lahat may problema... The only thing that makes a big difference is how the dealers address those issues.

As for my case, I'm glad I don't have to raise my eyebrows claiming for warranty kahit pinagpraktisan ko pa yong sasakyan na mag-DIY... hehehehehe...

WALA NA lahat ng wow factor for me regarding this car in particular..price notwithstanding I was really proud owning and driving it dahil about time na may pantapat na ang Korea with the other major players pero sablay pa din pala..i'm sorry for saying that Hyundai but I have had it with your 2011 Accent..granted other manufacturers vehicles were probably much worse before, I had to give it the benefit of the doubt. Pwede ko bang isoli na lang to sa bangko and stop ko na ang payments..? don't care if my credit suffers. Worst new-car experience for me. And were probably just scratching the surface.

Good for you bro napagpraktisan mo muna pag DIY..me, have no desire upgrading anything on this model. First thing I wanted to do before was to replace the crappy horn and alarm..also wanted to get them factory foglights..all that's been put in the back burner. I absolutely want to not spend anymore than I have to for this car.

actually not to demean anything, pero you should have returned it back when your stress level jump off your roof. sa dami ba namang problema ng sasakyan na yan, eh sino pa bang mag eenjoy... i myself neither couldnt understand bakit walang katapusan yong prob ng car na yan....

everyone has its own standard and preferences, and probably the accent doesn't come close to what you expect for a car... but again, choosing manufacturer X doesn't give you any guarantee na walang sakit sa ulo...

mukhang wala talagang kwenta ang hyundai... gimmick na lang ba yung five year warranty nila so they could earn more if you go to them for pms and maintain the illusion of the car being under warranty when they actually would not fix it! i thought the korean government got involved in this, it was reported a year ago in kbs news that the accent has an engine knock and the government ordered an investigation about it... kapal ng mukha ng hyundai ah!

TUMPAK pare, you got it! Hyundai is the KING KONG of unfair trade practice. Call it hostage, blackmail etc we are at the mercy of this giant. Come to think of it, dami dating mga corrupt officials sa govt and private corporations nila..at nagsusuicide ang mga ito to save their face and family's honor..(not that I would wish that on anyone). Di ko naman pwedeng bulyawan yung nagbenta sakin dahil he was probably as clueless as the buyers regarding these problems.

Stock horn,- don't sweat on this bro.,- palitan mo na lang...

Cheaper than mitsuba... But if the pocket is a bit deeper, then mitsuba na...

Actually do have fair share of headaches too... Siguro di lang ako marunong magalit sa dealer ko kasi they have been very good to me since the day I rolled out my first hyundai car (an i10 btw)...

para di ma-stress, eh pag may problema ang sasakyan, eh di resolbahin, learn few stuffs, at mag DIY...

gaya nito, in w/c I removed the faulty central lock module, and replaced it with a new one (including main door actuator). Also did some other stuffs para maging maganda ang ating umaga

Look at how messy those wirings are... It's done locally kaya hayon, spaghetti... I just have to close my eyes working on it... masilan ako sa mga ganyang bagay..

Oh di, when it's done, stress free and got to drink another cup of coffee afterwards...

hintayin ko munang ikabit nial uli radyo ko at maresolve alarm/door lock and power lag then ikakabit ko na tong mitsuba two tone horn (one short and one looonnng tone) and some other stuff..if i have no choice but to hang on to this car, then ikakabit ko na tong ibang gadget para at least may feel good factor sa kotse na to..otherwise, wala na talaga eh..so sad but true.

Ang ginagawa ko once naka 60 to 100 ang speed i shift to nuetral.

    I shifted gear to nuetral.

I was really considering the Accent as a car to replace my current car. We want to try something more fuel efficient ..and maybe something that would in the long run be easier to find parts for. I love my current car, but i'm worried about sourcing the parts and the cost of parts so, i thought why not try something more practical. With the feedback so far with the Accent, looks like it could give me exactly what i dont want, which is headaches. I thought the 5yr warranty would be a nice cushion..more like a pin cushion hehe.
Jazz, City, Vios, Accent was on the list. i guess i can cross out the Accent.

Note me if im wrong. Maaring sa accent ko lng ito. But i dont think so.

Haven't been able to backread this thread for a while, but to whoever spread the news and recommendations to upgrade the ECU to EURO 2... man, definitely not worth it. Tumakaw konsumo ng unit ko by almost 2 li / 100 km and the car drives like crap on inclined roads. Hirap tumulak pag paakyat at pag long drive naman, half-way through I'd need to use the manual shift mode to keep it from what seems like a 4th-gear only run.

WORST PART: di naman nawala yung engine knocking. Kahit magpapa-palit palit ako ng fuel, brand, and octane rating. The trade-off for a fix that does not even work! I'd just people to just be at peace with the engine knocking rather than be convinced by a worthless ECU - EURO 2 upgrade!

2011 Hyundai Accent issues, problems in general
