hahahaha... mas maganda 'to. Hyundai must have thought na, if you were able to buy a car, impossible naman na di ka makkaabali ng wrist watch... hahahaha....
Hehehehe, sad to say that those small issues overshadowed the overall aspect of the car.
Like I said, everyone wants a perfect car. Everyone wants the best car that their money can buy. Ang problema, is we are expecting way too much on what the car is positioned for. These are mid class cars, squeezing out production process to come up with a very competitive and reasonable prices. It is in this sense, na you could never expect them to be like those 9-10 digit value euro cars.
What we have is what we thought the best value for money. You can ride as comfortable as those cars twice its price. You have a car that looks way better than its competition (this is subject to one's preferences). Just don't expect it to be as perfect as it can be. Well, if I bought a car whose value is around 9-10 digit, and I have these non-sense issues, then I will be storming my dealer and ask for my money's worth....
Dami ngang issue ang Accent pero most of the cases are isolated ones and the others IMO all have easy fix, wag lang yung knocking sound na yan. But as for the knocking sound reported by Sir Mrouter, he stated that nawala na daw yung Knocking sound niya e, after using the recommended fuel.
Ok nga at we have this thread para mapagusapan ang mga issues of our own cars, malas mo nalang kung yung type ng kotseng nabili mo e walang nagpopost ng issues...hehehe ang dami pala!!!
like ive said sir di ako nagsabi ng mga issue & problems na to kundi sa mga nakabili na ng new accent dito sa thread na to as per their experiences.. sinamarize ko lang para madali makita.. Back read ka na lang sir baka nakakalimutan mong me bottoming issue pag mabilis at biglang pababa na parang bus na aalog alog na ikaw me sabi na i think me sinasabi ka pang "sana me silent recall".. sa tingin mo di ba major problem to?
hahahaha...
sir andretti, wag mo na lang patulan yan. Maraming alam nyan sa kotse. At, wala kang kadala-dala, toyota vios sa kanya, eh hyundai lang ang kaya nating bilhin...
hehehehe, this isn't bragging. My dad's garage has a sta. fe & a toyota fortuner. Me on the other hand, had a honda city 1.3at, and the all new accent 1.4at. As far as I remember, lahat ng cars na ito, dumaan na sa CASA for minor issues, except a mojor one on my dad's fortuner. The infamous d4d fuel choking & fuel pump issue. His sta. fe has also that very soft suspension setting. My honda city has busted thermostat while still on 8K kms. My accent, wala so far. But I am not expecting that it is as perfect as it can be.
Problema na lang nito if may issue, is kong papano ina-address ang issue.
And remember na comparing car brand "A" and car brand "B" is a never ending issue.... Kaya peace na lang tayo, and let's just enjoy each of our own ride....
The bottoming issue is one of the car's weakness and very clear naman po yan, di ko naman tinago ah, kaya nga sinabi ko may fix naman e wag lang yung knocking sound, as for the silent recall 'come on' it was a wishfull thinking naman Sir...
Paulit ulit na to,peace na tayo brad...
Maka bili na nga ng wall clock...![]()
What do you mean by Knocking sound? Ano yun?Originally Posted by andretti
Nasagot na ito by mr.brightside, its locally known as tope.
If you read the other thread sir about the engine knocking issues you may learn a lot from there.
AFAIK wala pa namang nagpost na mga newly acquired owners dito experiencing any knocking, hopefully it was solved already.
Mapa hyundai man siya o toyota o whatever. For me tiwala ako sa reliability ng hyundai (pang 3rd hyundai ko na itong accent). So far problem free naman yung GS ko (knock on wood!)mas madami pa nga ako naging issues sa other brands like toyota and ford. This goes to show na kahit ano pang brand nabili mo pwede kang matsambahan.
siguro ingget sa accent natin yan![]()
makabili nga nang wall clock color black din black naman accent ko e![]()
MROUTER
-issues from my accent so far
1. engine fuel knock (solved it by using shell unleaded *my opinion only)
2. rear shocks are too soft (sumasayad sa humps pag fully loaded)
3. door handles are sticky, parang naiiwan when pulled all the way out.
4. alarm shock sensor triggers by itself (crazy alarm)
5. no built-in clock (which I think is very important)
6. engine dieseling sound in the morning. it becomes better after a few minutes.
7. water easily enters the engine bay during washing. pag bukas ng hood basa agad cover nung fuse box, air filter cover, back side of head lights, water stays at the side of the above mentioned areas and most notably sa mga wires nung head lights (i find this very alarming).
8. material used for the fuel cover parang plastic. i have to personally open the fuel cover and remove the fuel cap when refueling in fear that gas boys are careless enough to break it.

Paging MROUTER pinagtatawanan ka ng katropa mo..![]()
The importance of a clock depends on the owner itself. If he isn't used to wearing wrist watches, then the clock will be definitely important for him. However, rubbing it in to other owners is a different thing. If I would know, people wouldn't want every single flaw to be released or talked about blatantly. Potah pati clock ginawang issue eh ...The bottoming issue, knocking sound is okay since those can be considered by some as " bad " but then, exaggerating it to the fact that you're sure the prospective buyer would say no is not commendable.
As for you, sir black ice, please do play fair. Each car has their own cons. When sharing your insights to prospective buyers/friends of yours, don't just step on the Accent just because you do not own a Hyundai, but, if needed step on the Vios too. Share their cons as well as their pros, then explain which would be more practical.
I myself is impressed about the Vios' practicality. However, if I should state some things that I don't like, I might just hurt the feelings of owners, including you.
Some of them are the ff :
1. Cheap interior
2. Center-positioned instrument panel ( ?? really? )
... and other stuff like that.
just like what other Accent owners mentioned these issues are considered as an isolated case. I for one never had any of these issues except of course with the soft rear suspension which i believe is not an issue and more of how the car was designed. If i may ask sir, lets say i haven't bought an Accent yet and i'm looking for a car.. what would you suggest me to buy? just curious kung ano ung mga suggestions nyo.![]()
