Parang discriminatory nga..ang Accent sa US ay pawang 1.6 version, loaded and for about the same price as our 1.4AT here..
*bratski...takaw ng Accent mo..does it mean your Accent full tank only has 32 liters? or roughly 8 gallons?..i accidentally filled up my tank with Shell Nittro or Premium..engine response wasn't on par with just super unleaded..mas pronounced ang engine lag nya...economy car nga bakit premium gas naman kailangan i karga? it defeats the purpose imo of owning one. Basta sabi ni SA only use Shell unleaded..probably the only advise he gave me that made some sense and one i'm keen on following.
After 20k, napa-upgrade ko na rin to Euro 2. As posted lesser ang knock, though I did notice na mas lumakas din consumption. I'll investigate pa - but bottomline....... really contemplating on ditching the 5 years warranty for cheaper alternatives. Ginto talaga singil ng mga casa aside sa Cebu I guess and personally sa Dasma.
Sir, mas mura sa Dasma as compared to the others. Sa Dasma, sinisingil ako ng 5k for 10k while at Las Pinas (Southmall) is 8k. I ditched the warranty and had my 10k at my local service center for 2k. All in all, I'm not very happy with the service of casa near me hence my decision to go out.
It's true also for me na lumakas nga fuel consumption after the engine knock was fixed..not happy with the euro2 upgrade of the ecu kasi may tradeoff..with the engine knock napilitan ako na gumamit ng premium gas. Saan kayo nakarinig na a relatively 'cheap' car eh premium ang gamit na fuel? then with the Euro2 lumalaklak naman ng gasolina at may engine lag pa!!
nakalimutan ko na kung ilan capacity ng gas tank natin. its porbably the same with all accents. yung full tank ko 180kms tinakbo nagpapakarga na ako, may 2 bars pa natitira dun pero hindi ko talaga sinasagad. ang sagad ko is 2 bars left, usually nagpapakarga ako 4 bars pa natira. yung mileage ko was computed manually (eg. full tank then fill up, read the kms driven in between.) i dont rely on the computer kasi masyadong optimistic hahaha. minsan nakalagay 14L/100km which equals to 7km/l. pero pag compute ko manually nasa 5.8-5.9km/l lang.
Obviously hindi bro.
Mantakin mo naman, 95octane na ang gasolina,- tapos 5.5Km/L pa.... Paktay kang bata ka...
17.3K:type:
a subcompact car running at 5.5KM/L, talagang paktay tayo...
Parang consumption ng old Explorer ng erpats ko w/c plays around 4.5-5.5KM a Liter lang... Hehehehehe...

I was referring to sir Bratski's case...
Mine is definitely fine running at 10-11-12KM a liter depende sa route ko. However, I have an audio woodworks sa trunk w/c I assume I am carrying around 40Kilos of load sa trunk.
The only problem ng accent ko is the suspension, w/c is di naman naging problema sa aking ang pagclaim ng warranty. Yong Rack & Pinion ko is napalitan na. What is funny is that, I have been thinking na I have rear hub problems, when the problem was my tires. KUMHO ECSTA KU33 kasi gulong ko, and yong ingay, is para bang defective rear hubs kung saan para kang nasa eroplano sa ingay ng mga gulong... And what is amazing, is that Hyundai gave me 2 Brand New rear hubs.
Hehehehehehehe...
Already changed my tires to Yokohama, and they are as quit as the stock tires na

Yup, absolutely the worst alarm experience on a new car, bar none. Nasa hospital kami one time at nagtaka ko pawis na pawis yung guard hinahanap ako dahil dun pala kami banda sa tapat ng ICU nakapark at yung car alarm ko pala was blaring for at least a good 30mins at ayaw huminto! kahiya talaga especially magmi-midnight na...good thing nila log nila mga plate nbr ng mga sasakyan papasok at kailangang magiwan ka ng picture ID and tell them where you're going kaya ako nila nahanap.
Just yesterday I was at the casa checking on the status of my parts on order, kinwento sakin ng warranty rep na meron din daw na Accent kalalabas lang na problema kaagad yung alarm. I reminded him na mine is also broken as well as my door lock. Pag kailangan mong i-lock ang mga pintuan in an emergency, super reflexes at super habang brasong kailangan mo. This model is not safe security wise.
I am not a hyundai fanatic nor own a stake on the italic "H".. However I must say na ang alarm ng 1.4AT and MT accents s#ck big time, pero we can not associate that problem to the brand itself. Yong alarm natin (except for the 1.6Blue), are locally installed, and I must say, our distributor made the wrong choice of saving let us "few hundred bucks" per unit than slapping it with factory installed alarms.
This thing should be a lesson to product planners, responsible of customizing every features of each variants. Quality does not come cheap. You installed a 400php or whatever worth of alarm and keyless entry, and you would simply get what you have paid. Bottom line is, in the world of marketing superiority, every detail counts. And the situation simply stains a bit on HARI's reputation to bring in bang for the buck vehicles...
My own perspective, eh I don't care about this shitty alarm, as long as my dealer replaces it. On my case, I don't bother na having the alarm/keyless entry system replaced, because honestly, they would give you the same shitty unknown brand pa rin...
So a friendly advise, pakabit na kayo ng matinong alarm... 4k-5k range siguro.... It's cheaper than your car or could be cheaper than what is left inside.

Agree with you bro.
Exactly how I explained my alarm issue (different problem of course) with our then Jazz in 2005, to the Branch Manager of Honda Alabang then.
'Stylized H' yata bro...

I still would beg to differ bro..my so-called factory installed radio (Hyundai brand) just drained my car battery to complete dead..take note, it is made by and presumably installed by Hyundai. Yung crappy alarm natin na outsourced locally (cost cutting syempre) led me to conclude na other parts of this vehicle may be prone to breakage and may also develop problems due to these parts being contracted out to second party manufacturers as is common practice with all of the major veh manufacturers. So it is not easy for me not to associate these defects to the brand itself eh part na sya overall ng model na to. Ilang percent ng Hyundai vehicles believe it or not ay made somewhere else and does not bear the H brand. Quality is at stake dito and from the looks of it, Hyundai is missing on that regard terribly.
You guys are right by saying na if a part fails, nothing will stop Hyundai from sticking the same brand/thing in and it will eventually fail, of course causing us to get tired and scrap the warranty and buy a better parts outside. This is just a vicious practice and it does suck for us users. Never again big Hyundai..never again
