Actually hindi ako matyaga, wala lang akong oras makipag banggayan sa dealer ko at hindi ko nagagamit yung accent during the entire stretch na malala ang problem. Come to think of it, since 5 years nga warranty mukhang 5 years ang tiis. Pero hindi ko na aantayin yun, i plan to sell it next year na.
Right now wala pa naman ako complaint... So far, no knocking and no low power kahit running on petron xcs. Its a step lower from shell v power kasi sobrang mahal naman nung v power. Im secretly wishing na mag knock uli para mag demand nako ng unit replacement or refund. Wish me luck on that one hehhe
Nawawala yung point ng Accent as an econocar kapag premium fuel pala yung kinakailangan haha.
Talo pa ang mga executive sedan ng mga japanese brands/ng hyundai mismo, kahit pinakamababang grade/unleaded, walang problema.

Update, been driving the accent the whole day today. Thought i heard a very very faint knock pero mga once or twice lang. I was hoping na mag knock na para maisoli ko na. Ang kaso ayaw mag knock. Baliktad talaga, dati i was hoping na maayos na pero hindi naaayos, ngayon naman gusto ko mag knock para maisoli ko ayaw naman mag knock... Haaayyyy, nakakabwisit ang tahimik ng makina at sarap i-drive.
Been a week na, traveled 120kms during the stretch, still no knock and no low power sheessh.

Mukha ngang na resolve na. Kaso may bumabalik na ibang issue, yung when shifting to 2nd gear nag neutral muna for a few seconds tapos biglang pasok ang 2nd. Lakas ng kadyot. Dati very seldom mangyari ito, pero lately parang daily na. My wife drove it kanina and she complained of the same thing. Kakatakot daw, para kang susubsob. It seems nabobobo yung transmission and hindi maka decide.
mga officemates ko na nag try ng fuel save ng shell, feedback di maganda. yung isa MT na auto, sabi niya kundi parang mamamatay, bagal ng hatak. kadalasan kapos.
I dont think its shift shock, it usually happens between 1st and 2nd gear. Upon accelerating from first, biglang tataas ang rpm but no extra forward motion, kinda like nag neutral yung transmission, then biglang pasok yung 2nd gear after 2-3 seconds, para kang sinipa sa likod.
O eto na pinaka hihintay ko. Nag knock na yung engine ko, sinabayan pa ng low power saglit. Medyo extensive use kasi si accent ngayon. Pero funny thing, after ko mag park then start uli makina to go home nawala naman yung knock. Pero isosoli ko narin ito. Dito kailangan ko ng combination ng intense persuation at luck.
Wala ba tayong batas dito sa atin protecting consumer rights? Hindi ko na mabilang kung ilang beses nako pabalik balik sa casa to fix the same problem of knocking. Kung may laban kasi ako talagang ilalaban ko, pero baka ang magagastos ko sa process mahigit pa sa purchase price ng kotse.
sir bratski, i think its shift shock also. on my unit, if i press too hard, rpm will increase and then shift. if i increase gas slowly no shift shock. if its low power, then the same should manifest in the 2nd scenario. someone here explained that ATs are normally like this depending on how good the AT mechanism/cpu or whatever logic is behind the shifting.
anyway, i adjusted my driving style to compensate for this so this is not an issue anymore (at least with me)
