ay nako sir, I'm not from NCR... Gusto ko rin sana, pero due to geographical constraints, di pwede.
On my region, sabi ng dealer ko (Cebu), around 5 na yong reported na may engine pinging/knocking. Di nga lang ma-update nila dahil they are currently upgrading their system, kaya payo ng CASA just fill up with 95RON if possible. But I think this remedy doesn't solve some of the units' engine knocking at all.
Anyway, last test case is the petron xtra-unleaded. Hehehe, minsan I am hesitant for the unleaded, pagsurface ng knocking issue, baka hindi na mawala-wala... eheheheh...
And by the way, just pulled my unit out sa casa, I have this thug (krggg...) sound on the steering system when turning full right. And my experience told me that it's not the tires. But they were able to correct the trouble with only a 200.00 PHP material charge.
Total , PTT , Flying V has no ethanol mix in any of their gasoline from unleaded to premium. In my experience pure gasoline is really better in terms of performance. I use PTT premium with 97 octane , very satisfied with the performance. It is priced the same with xcs and caltex gold. PTT might be a small player here in the Philippines but in Thailand it is the largest oil company just like petron.
Kakaiba nangyari today, dunno if its due to the sudden downpour and malamig yung weather, or maybe kaka fillup ko palang ng caltex silver (previous fillups ko puro petron xcs or unleaded). But.... No engine knock for today, 30 mins ko rin tinesting pero wala talaga. Hindi kaya nasanay na ears ko? Mas malakas din humatak itong caltex silver na 93 octane compared sa xcs na 95 octane
thanks for the info sir. Akala ko ni-require na ng gobyerno natin for a full E-10 Gas lineup. Nasubukan ko kasi dati yong Flying V with my wife's honda city. Kakaiba yong behaviour ng sasakyan. Para yatang walang pwersa when you depress the gas pedal. But in-fairness sa Flying V, mura ng 1.25 Peso than the the big three...
Hi guys! I personally use fully synthetic oils too with my other car and in my 3 years experience with it, Fully synthetic oils + any unleaded fuel is much better than just regular oil + hi-octane fuel. It would really sounds smooth and silent like a sleeping cat.
With my 1.4 a/t, odo * 400kms, the 1st thing i've noticed sa engine is the lacking cover that u would see if u Google "accent 2012 engine". Not sure why HARI omitted it since may abang na 4 sockets for screws sa corner ng engine. This adds to the bare noise of the engine. Second is the placement of the air intake. Halos di mo na makita yun entrance ng air pipe of the air filter. For the newbies, better air intake = smoother engine & better FC. But with our accent, if you look at it closely, parang hirap ang pasok ng hangin. This could also be the culprit.
So far, I havent experienced any bothering noise. But AFter my 1st 1kPM, im planning to shift to fully synthetic. After 5k PM, upgrade air filter

Not sure with flying V I have not tried it yet. I only tried PTT, uni oil, jetti and phoenix petroleum. Surprisingly the performance of phoenix petroleum is also good which is also pure gasoline no ethanol. Not familiar with the ethanol law but since petron has the blaze which is pure gasoline plus other gas stations probably after GMA's term pwede na hehehe.
Unioil and JETTI sucks. Bad performance just like regular unleaded even if I filled it up with premium 95ron.
ic thanks sir! nag ask din ako sa isang mikaniko na mapagkakatiwalaan he said that kapag daw ganon yung sasakyan mo it means na yung makina mo is kundisyon na kundisyon yung makina mo. tapos nag tama yung sinabi nya na lalo na daw kapag umaga mas malakas yung parang moise or tubig na lumalabas when you try to start it and painitin ito nang onti.
Hindi ko na tinanggal sir. Depende rin kasi sa dealer sir kung gaano ka-ungas i-enforce yong warranty provision, pero on my case though I still have the stock mags, di ko na ibinalik.
The problem is not with the rim size upgrade, isa ako dalawang kaso na may thug sound when turning full right. Yong isang unit, bare stock talaga, and shows the same problem with my unit. they only charge me 200.00 pesos. From what I have observed, tinanggal nila yong front left suspension ko, at may pinalitan na pyesa. I think yong 200.00 pesos is miscellaneous charges na lang.
And besides, yong overall diameter ng 16s na ginamit ko is the same with the stock tire niya, doon lang yata nagkakatalo sa wheel offset and weight.
Guys yung kina kakatakutan kung mangyari sa accent ko dumating na! after 5k odo naririnig ko na yung knocking sound. Pansin ko everytime na umabot sa 70 up yung takbo ko nag na-nock n sya, very obvious yung sound kahit nka radio on ako.
if you guys remember ako yung isa sa mga nagsasabi na walang problema yung auto ko, i've tried shell unleaded, petron unleaded and caltex unleaded before wala talaga akong naririnig and then suddenly after 5k of running meron na even when im using xcs which am always using meron pa din. at tama nga yung sinasabi ng iba nakaka irita sya.
it kinda odd na late sya nag knock or may ganun talaga? for those of you who already have a solution, kindly share it to me please. kung sang casa at kung anu ginawa nila. sorry guys no time to backread sobrang busy sa work this time kaya hindi nko nakakapag forum.

Kakaiba nga yang case mo, most of us nag knock na at an earlier stage, yung akin 300 kms palang meron na. Pero lately medyo na lessen yung knock nung nag caltex silver ako. Been using petron unleaded and xcs since i bought it. Nanghinayang kasi ako sa fuel rebate and naka P.O. Company ko sa kanila. First time ko mag caltex and mukhang mas promising, hindi na ganun kadali mag knock.baka mag caltex nalang muna ako in the meantime and check kung tuluyan ng mawawala yung knock. Too early to tell pa kasi first fulltank ko pa lang sa caltex
Pansin ko din yung unit niya is MT.
IMO I think the sound can be heard at different speeds.
It depends on the rpm and the amount of weight the engine is carrying.
