May switch.

*callmenadz,
Yung akin 11kph* 1,160km odometer. Malamang hindi ko na madadala sa nlex or sctex ito during its time with me. I bought the accent for the purpose na pang harabas sa office ko. All other lakad ko with my family ang dala ko GS.
Btt, nagpa schedule nako for an ecu update next week kahit alam kong malaki ang possibility na humina ang hatak, called up my SA sa hyundai e.rod and wala pa daw nagrereklamo sa kanila na humina hatak after the update. Kung pag hina ng hatak magiging result ng no engine knock, im willing to take the chance, irritable kasi yang knocking na yan. Humina man ang hatak ok lang, hindi naman ako nangangarera and city driving lang ako so walang chance para mahataw ko.
Hi guys just wondering does this engine knock affect the performance of the car and also what is the miles per galon nakukuha nyo sa accent hehe
accent owners, I would like to share an upgrade that might help in your knocking issues. Try installing a grounding kit and directly ground the throttle body and the cylinder head(both sides)or valve cover to the negative pole of the battery. This works effectively for old cars and it just might solve your knocking issue. It is a cheap upgrade and can be taken out fairly easily if you don't want the casa to see it that they may use it to not honor your warranty regarding electrical issues.
While that should work on most older cars, I don't think the Accent's knock problem is due to a lack of spark intensity... it's really down to the poor fuel and excess timing advance + lean running at low rpm. The solution is to remove the timing advance and enrichen the mixture a little... but pulling timing usually results in a power loss... which is what these people are experiencing.
When a casa tells you the ECU can't be reflashed to the original programming, that's bull****. That just means they don't have the original program loaded on their system. Making you get a whole new ECU is a waste. Any ECU can be reflashed to any previous state. All it takes is for them to coordinate with the head office to give them a more accurate reflash or to give them a copy of the original fuel and ignition tables.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
it's just the other way around, masyado naman retarded ang settings ng ignition timing ng mga nagpapa-update ng ecu. also not healthy for the engine, poor engine performance and low fuel economy.
kung may distributor lang ang accent, madali lang ang issue na iyan sa engine knocking eh. another reason why old school still rocks. pero makuha ang tamang ignition timing, panalo ang distributor-less kasi computer controlled ang timing.
Pagkatapos ma update ang ECU akala namin ligtas na kami sa engine knock, after 2 days biglang humina power output niya, You have to put full throtle sa gas kasi bumagal siya sa uphill, which dati na hindi naman dapat siya nahihirapan, tapos may nagappear na strange noise sa front na "thug" sound tapos sa likod naman may sound din na parang metal to metal scratching, na kaschedule na kami tomorrow sa Casa, Hope so they can resolve all our problems, naiinis na tuloy si misis dahil sobrang abala sa time & fuel kasi malayo ang travel time from Antipolo to Hyundai QA, were being patient as much as possible, so let's see tomorrow?
Curious... not sure kasi if ito yung engine knock na sinasabi niyo.
Last weekend (accomplished 5.8 liter per 100 km nga pala highway drive! Tipid!) went to Tagaytay. I'm assuming it's a stone or plastic stuck on the wheel, couldn't find it though.
Anyways ayun. Btw, sarap din palang pakinggan ng Accent pag pabagal ka then naka-open yung window, parang may turbo-chime na pahina ng pahina as you decelerate.![]()
dapat yata eh EB para marinig nating lahat at maramdaman yang loss of power after ecu update.![]()
Hehe.![]()
Sir! sa mga A/T lang ba ito problem kasi yung unit ko is M/T and due na for 5k PMS baka kako galawin nila yung ECU, wala man kasi ako naramdaman na tope, and i use XCS gasoline in fact mas malakas sya sumibat at mas matipid pa nga kesa unleaded, marahil mas mataas ang octane nya, kaya less apak lang sa accelarator dahil madali mo ma-achieve yung speed na gusto ko.
Afaik both a/t and m/t's are affected. Psg 5k pms mo sigurado upgrade yang ecu mo. Unless you tell them not to.
