Does this say it on the manual?! if that's the case, the Accent is not at par with the rest of its competitors which are designed for 93 RON.

If that is indeed the case, you really have to fill 'er up with clean 95 RON gas. Talk about an economy car huh.

Just to answer this again: Yes, it's written on the manual. For EU, 95 RON is recommended, if not in EU, you can use 93 RON but expect decrease in performance. No other notes aside from that.

Yun pala. 95 RON. It's just odd that Hyundai brought in a car that requires 95 RON considering its an entry level car. baaaaaaaad boy Hyundai

Wow an entry level car that requires higher octane fuel?? Sana sabihin nila ito sa mga clients before they make a purchase. Im quite sure maraming matuturn off.

What will happen ba pag nadetune? Aside from it being able to accept lower octane fuel, may ibang effects pa ba like loss of hp, torque, efficiency?

Loss of HP & torque sure yun pag detuned ang engine.. Not sure with the FC.

    Kaya yung R-eVGT natin dito 177BHP & 197BHP lang, sa Korea 185BHP & 200BHP. :headache:

Indeed! Yun din yung nakikita kong problem. Entry level car that requires 95 RON. Papano makikipag compete ang HARI sa subcompact category (vios, fiesta and city) kung sa fuel pa lang picky na yung manok nila?

just to make it clear for everyone, here's what the manual actually says:

    FUEL REQUIREMENTS
    GASOLINE ENGINE
    UNLEADED

    For Europe
For the optimal vehicle performance, we recommend you to use unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of RON (Research Octane Number) 95/AKI (Anti Knock Index) 91 or higher.
You may use unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of RON 91~94/AKI 87~90 but it may result in slight performance reduction of the vehicle.

    Except Europe
Your new vehicle is designed to use only unleaded fuel having an Octane Rating of RON (Research Octane Number) 91/AKI (Anti-Knock Index) 87 or higher.

Your new vehicle is designed to obtain maximum performance with UNLEADED FUEL, as well as minimize exhaust emissions and spark plug fouling.
so does this mean the "reduced performance" isn't really applicable to us here in PH and shouldn't have problems with the regular shell unleaded (93 RON)?
