    my first post..

since hyundai manila bay displayed its 2010 tucson i was a frequent visitor there and was very interested with this model.

though id thought i should wait for some FC's feedback and so thanks for this thread!

am just curious if anyone has gotten a manual model (the 988K) and had more or less measured its consumption. i am really am mindful of the FC because mahal ang gas..

i hope there is someone out there who has the manual..

or i just might wait for the CRDI....

Finally kumpleto na ang line-up...may Titanium Gray na tayo. Congrats BruJuga. Post naman ng pics.

I suggest we go na for a mini EB

Pwede ba kayo on Sun (Dec 27) or di kaya next Sat (Jan 2)? We can meet up at one of the paved parking areas at Bonifacio High Street. Maganda siguro mid morning or early afternoon para walang kaagaw sa parking. Para pwedeng magtabi-tabi mga Tucson ix natin

As I previously mentioned, sagot ko na yung coffee and donuts at Krispy Kreme

    Hi guys,

Fyi......am now getting 11.5liters/100km - normal city (daytime) driving, ave. speed - 35kph., max speed - 120kph (c5) .....still have to post more accurate full tank kpl determinations on the new 2wd a/t Tucs.

BTW, how is the service in Hyundai Global?

Here's a recap of my gas consumption so far:

    Pure Highway Driving:
    - Total Distance Traveled: 165 kms (NLEX/Clark)
    - Onboard Computer: 8.2L/100Km = 12.2 Km/Liter

    Combination Highway & City Driving:
    - Total Distance Traveled: 339 kms
    - Highway: 165 kms (49%)
    - City: 174 (51%) Moderate to Heavy Traffic (EDSA/Makati/Manila)
    - Onboard Computer: 10.4L/100Km = 9.6 Km/Liter
    - Manually Computed Consumption (After full tank refill): 9.5 Km/Liter

Based on this experience, I would say the onboard computer is pretty accurate as it closely matches the manually computed consumption.

Also, how economical your consumption will be is determined by how heavy your foot is on the accelerator and how efficiently you shift between gears. Try putting the onboard computer on the real time consumption display and you will see how much the difference is when accelerating heavily, particularly in low gear, and when cruising in high gear. It is also a given that your consumption will suffer if you are always in heavy traffic.

However, even if this drops down to 8 Km/Liter for city driving, I can live with it. It's just so much fun to drive. And people can't believe it's a Hyundai

    nice consumption, bynnos!

As for me even if my kpl drops to 6kpl city driving I would still be satisfied.
Though my friends say that I should have opted for the Santa Fe 2.2 2WD A/T CRDi (estimated at 9kpl-city driving), which btw was my first choice.......however, with the present diesel (P31.25/l) and unleaded gasoline (P40.35) costs and my ave. daily travel of 20 kilometers, I calculated that I will need to use the SF for a good 14 years or 100,800 kilometers to recoup the price difference of approximately P330,000.00 between the 2010 Tucs 2.0L GLS GAS A/T and the SF. Of course, this comparison is based only on consumption cost and has nothing to do with size, torque, no. of passengers, etc.

    _____________

    WOW! great fuel consumption!

    mine's ~17km/100L.. that's around 5.8KM/L... city mixed with highway =(

Guys, can Hyundai Service Center still tune this up? I went to one of the Hyundai Service center for the first PMS but all they did was change the motor oil.. i have the assumption that they still dont have guys trained with IX for they dont know the exact fuel filter and number of liters for the oil.

    "FUEL ECONOMY INNOVATIONS

To help Hyundai Tucson drivers get the most out of their vehicles, Hyundai added a standard trip computer and economy indicator. The trip computer provides distance to empty, average fuel consumption, average vehicle speed, elapsed time and instant fuel economy. The "Eco Indicator" on automatic transmission models nestled between the speedometer and tachometer displays a green LED light in accordance with fuel-efficient driving behavior. Fuel savings in the range of 15 to 17 percent are attainable with the automatic Eco Indicator. Manual transmission models have a shift indicator to inform drivers of the optimal time to upshift and downshift. Fuel savings in the range 7 to 9 percent are attainable with the manual Eco Gear Shift Indicator.

Further gains in fuel efficiency have been realized by the Motor-Driven Power Steering system which delivers excellent responsiveness and accurate handling."
    ____

I believe this feature is not availble for the 4x2 GLS, is it? tucson owners kindly confirm or mine is just not working... =(
